I will never forget. I was at Woodfire grill in severna park md. I had just got my CDL license and was filling in on my first route. I had a supervisor riding with me showing me the ins and outs. I just finished delivering beer and went to the restraunts office to get a check. Owner was no where to be found. Walked around and found him sitting at the bar with all the TV's on. He had this glazed look in his eyes. When he saw us he said "someone just flew a plane into the twin towers". First thing that went thru my head was some rookie pilot flew a little plane into it. Then I realized it was a commercial airplane sticking out of the twin towers. My jaw hit the ground. Supervisor was an old guy waiting on retirement and he looked at me and said "....s never gonna be the same after this". He ordered us both a beer and we sat there for awhile watching the tv taking it all in. The rest of the day was like a play-by-play rushing from one bar to the next delivering beer and running to the bar to see the latest update on the tv. Traffic was just insane that day after it hit the pentagon. They let all government employees go home so by the time I got back to the warehouse then drove home it was 10pm. One of the longest days of my life. And scariest to be honest, that was to close to home.

I also was on my way in to work listening to the radio and could not believe what was happening, I could not comprehend why someone would want to do this, what was our world turning into, could not sleep that well for days could not understand why?.
But the world all came together in the days and weeks that followed, you would see people doing good deeds to others that they never did before, people really had a different out look on life after that day . That day really did change the world forever

09/11 - I was at work in the hospital when it came on the news reporting the first plane hitting the WTC. While watching the news, they showed live video replaying what had happened, when the second plane hit the other tower. At that point, I was in shock. I just knew in my heart that it wasnt an accident anymore. That someone, somewhere was truly attacking the U.S. and imagined how life was about to change for this country. When they were giving guesses of how many people probably were injured, I could feel a pit in my stomach. Such a waste of life....

ok it may be too late and not like I have any luck left, but 9-11. I had just gotten up and was pouring a cup of coffee when they broke in with the news, the reporters where going nuts no one seems to know what was going on. I sunk on the couch and cried, not just from the attack, being raised in the family I was I knew what it was from the first.

But and this may seem silly to most of you, I cried for the soldiers of past wars, wondering if their sacrifice had been wasted. The conversation I had with my dad back when I was a teen on why we got in so many wars in other countries, and his simple answer was, "it keeps it off our shores". I was also glad he hadn't lived to see the day it came here.

Totally off topic but here is a question - does anyone end up with really soft wicks?

I know that sounds like a strange question but I know it's possible to make a really pliable and soft wick. I have some from Zen that came with the ZAG. I've tried about everything and they always come out very stiff.

The pliable ones are so easy to work with because you can get them to the top post without crushing them into the tank and causing a short. Would love to know the secret.

I just use less mesh and a bigger inner pin to make Zen-like wicks.

Hope somebody who prefers Zen-like wicks to give a better answer. I personally prefer the fatter wicks.
