It was just a question, and it has been answered. If I want vent holes in the tube as well, I have a drill and know how to us it... It was just a question I had after reading about the now seemingly dangerous smok Telescope mod. Also, I am purchasing for my wife and not myself, so I should be sure of these things.

Understood. NOT piling on... But a large contingent among us intends to "kick" this device, and the safety features in the Kick are an added benefit we all need to remember.

What batteries do you recommend using on these - (I am talking about 18650)? I use the CGR 18650s on my provari and I don't own any of the AW IMR 18650s that Zen recommends and I figured I should get whatever is recommended for this and have them in stock beforehand.

So what do you guys recommend and where to buy from? Any links?

Usually use RTD Vapor. Hope other people can chime in on where they buy their batteries.

Ugh, kicks are out of stock everywhere. Oh well, didn't have enough for both the iHybrid + kick + 18490's. Next month.

thanks guys. One more question : Does the 3100maH or 2900maH or 2600maH batteries on either RTD or SuperT work or if not which one would ? SuperT says these don't fit the provari, hence the question.

I am planning to use them on iHybrid, Orion and any future Zenesis.

Which batteries are you looking at? You should be looking for the Red IMR ones (unless you want to play with the Panasonic cells).

I am using AW IMR 2000 mah 18650's on my other hybrids and they're just about right for a 5 ml tank. The Panasonic I have are 2250 mah and they last longer. Zen's warranty is explicit about AW. Haven't seen anything from faceless on this yet.

I'm sorry if it came out like my statement was directed at you. It wasn't. It's been a topic of conversation lately. You just reminded me of a video I saw on youtube yesterday addressing the fact that vent holes in the bottoms of mods while safer than ones without essentially turned them into rockets. Just didn't anyone to think that just because a mod is vented that it meant it was safe. I do understand your concerns when it comes to safety thats why I mentioned the fuse. Any time you use anything with rechargeable batteries there is a risk of battery failure weather it be a smartphone, a camera or PV. I guess I was just asking the question that why do we (not you but the community as a whole) put so much emphesis on safety of our PV's but don't think twice when we take out our camera to take a picture? I never intended to upset anyone. My goal was to bring up a point about safety, a possible solution to the safety issue, and to try and provoke an intellictual conversation.

I have plenty of the Panasonic batteries. They work great on provaris and I am not too worried about those as the device offers plenty of protection. The 3 new devices that are coming (Zenesis, Orion and Ihybrid) are not protected as the provari is, and makes me wonder if I should use the panasonics in them or get one with more protection. I am not sure of which ones work and which ones don't - hence all these dumb questions.

If they work fine , then I don't need to make any more battery purchases. If that's the case, let me know. I have about 20 of those.

Otherwise, I was looking at the black protected ones. If I don't need the black protected ones and the red ones will work, then let me know.

Once again thanks for answering my questions.

I think the IMR (red ones) are the recommended.

I have a few of the black protected and shelved those awhile ago.

Zen doesn't recommend the red one, he REQUIRES them. Your PV comes in a sealed package that says something like, "by breaking this seal, you are agreeing to use AW IMR batteries."

That said, Panasonics have found their way into my Zen devices with no ill effects. I'll replace them with AW's when they reach the end of their useful lives, but I won't throw them out.

But, I guess I need to remind myself, like I reminded cryptodogg, this is faceless' thread. I want him to build pv's (at least until he has reached #32 ;)). I'm sure he'll weigh in.

Rolygate took the time to answer my questions concerning batteries and mod vents. After reading your post, it might be of interest to you and to others as well. It's in the Mod with Safety Issues thread in this post.
Another poster has started the intelligent mathematical brainstorming. Before the day's out, I'm sure we'll have a good
basis of averages. Dimensions

Got it. I will stick with my Panasonics for now. My main confusion was between the red and black ones and now that you have clarified that, I see really not a whole lot of difference between the red ones and the Panasonic ones.

And like you said, will wait for Faceless to chime in as well...
