Ok, maybe I'll just leave the spring like it is, it has less conductivity versu the old spring, I guess it is customizable and people can change the spring if they want :) If you get a battery connection spring, the output will increase just to warn yall lol

I don't know what those springs cost ya but you could always send with the lighter spring and toss the stiff spring in the bag for those wanting a stiffy. Springs eventually lose their bounce and that was the main reason I switched to the magnets, well that and I needed a stiffy. :D

OK, I unboxed it.

First impressions:

- nicer finish, no roughness to the touch on the top cap, no scratches at all everything smooth and shiny

- top cap fits ALL my drip tips, including all Mawns

- I don't like the switch - too soft, too wobbly; btw with a Kick, it will hit the same regardless of spring conductivity or whatnot, it will drain the battery a wee bit faster if indeed there's more resistance in the spring. I think this is philosophically wrong as well - the PV should aim at providing the least possible resistance overhead, and then the user can adjust their experience either with the Kick setting or with the number or wraps. The PV should be as "neutral" as possible

- the switch jiggles around when you just hold the PV in the air; it makes a noise - clang, clang. Very annoying, given that the old switch, as I said, was close to PERFECT

- the logo on the bottom is cool

- only ONE o-ring? I don't care, I have o-rings to make myself a chainmail, but for the usual buyer maybe a full set of o-rings would be nicer

Bottom line, Faceless - would it be possible, if it's not too much trouble, for me to get two pieces of help from you? I would love if I could return the old cap and the new switch and I could get a cap that fits Mawns (it could be the same one, I don't need the new finish) and a switch that behaves like the old ones? Please? It would really make me very happy!

Mine doesn't rattle at all with magnets, I just checked, but yes with the lighter spring I noticed a rattle myself. In my first vid I was shaking the PV cause I heard a rattle and was trying to discover where it came from, I discovered when I locked the switch and the rattle went away. It is much more stable with the magnets as well.....:2c:

I want to try magnets. Did you use the ones you can order for the Zen or something else?

Yes, those were the only ones I had and I saw where the ob had mentioned doing the same thing (gotta give the Portlandian credit). However the switch isn't exactly the same so to get the right throw I only used one fatty magnet and one slim magnet and none of the little washers that the Zenesis ships with.

OK - un-boxed, wicked, coiled (after 2 popped on me), and vaping up a storm. Woo-hoo! Even did the hard part of giving it up to the wife (because it's hers). Besides the way it vapes, my favorite part is the logo Fisty made on the bottom button :)

I keep seeing this happening but I didn't experience any popped coils....guess I got tossed a lucky dogg bone. :)

Took me 3 wraps to get it going (first 2 popped) . Vaping like a champ. I didnt have much time to oxidize correctly, most likely the issue.

Tonight when I get home the polish and rags are on the desk waiting to give my new toy a mirror finish. I will post pics when I am done.

Great device Faceless. All my fellow vapers at work are either jelly or consider me crazy.

Got my iHybrid today. Here's a couple of quick pics. My thoughts after the pics.

M5Svc.jpg

pGhS3.jpg

Build : Very smooth threads. Like the way it all fits together nicely. No issues with gaps like someone posted. Like the tank shield and the locking mechanism. The air hole is the right size for me.

Vape : Works as expected. Easy to setup. Happy with the vapor production with a 3/4 wrap 32 gauge wire.

Unexpected positive :
- The "i" on the tank shield aligns perfectly with the wick as you can see in the second pic. Don't know if this was done on purpose, but I like it. Make it easy to spot which way to tilt the device.

Negatives : None.

Other thoughts and suggestions:
- I am not a fan of mechanical mods, prefer the provari approach with an atty on top and a firm believer in electronics. Even though I really like this device, if you ever come out with stand alone atty top, count me in for a couple of those. This is just a personal preference.

- It would be great the if you can make the wick hole bigger like in the DID (3.5 mm I think). The reason why I say that it allows for sturdier wicks that don't need a needle/support in the middle to easily wrap a coil and the wick would last longer. I have no issues what-so-ever with wicking, but just saying.

- The wick hole is on the left of the screw in iHybrid. I don't own a zenesis, so I am not sure if this is how those are designed, but being a righty, if the wick hole is to the right of the screw, it would make it easier to wrap a coil. Again, I could wrap a coil without issues, but would've preferred to have it on the right of the screw.

So, congrats faceless for a fantastic device that vapes great and looks beautiful and Thank you for sending me one. :)

Cheers
/JP
