By request from a different forum, I did this little experiment.

I don't know exactly what it proves, except for that the switch is not airtight and allows venting. I strongly believe this does not prove the iHybrid (or any other PV with some little vent hole/space/switch) is "safe" to use with unsafe chem batteries. Moreover, using a Genisis style atomizer with a Lithium Cobalt battery is not a good idea because these batteries may not tolerate well the momentary current draw of a partial short which is so common with our coils at least in the beginning.

ONLY USE IMR batteries with the iHybrid or any other Genisis style.

Bad day with the iHybrid. No flavor, very airy vapor. I literally get a better hit of a boge carto on an ego.Don't know what I'm doing wrong. I have a well oxidized coil and no hot spots on the coil. It ended up leaking out all in my pocket at my sisters baby shower. So embarrassing. Came home and rewrapped a new coil no hot spots but still no flavor and vapor. I'm taking 6-8 second draw just to get a somewhat satisfying hit and because I'm taking such long draws that my pinky is killing me. I literally have indents. My 18650 tube was supposed to be in today ( mine was the one with the threads that were not right) but I didn't realize it needed a signature so it won't be here till Monday. Not Faceless' fault but it was just the one thing I was looking forward to after a frustrating day. I really want this device to work and work well but all this hassle without any payoff is really discouraging. Here's a pic of my wick and coil. If anyone has ANY sort of advice it would be much appreciated.

No to be a ... but is this your first genisis type Atty?
You might be flooding your coil try vaping it at 6:00,straight up and down, or don't vape it and take the cap of hold it straight up and down press and hold the button and see if it changes after a few.

Elfstone, I recall seeing something similar to your balloon test in this video: SmokTech Telescope Review - YouTube

It is my 1st genesis. I'll try pinching the mesh and vaping at 6 o'clock. You weren't being an ... at all. Thanks for the help.

Just out of curiosity, it that the normal color of the juice? Was it that dark when you put it in the tank or is it darkening as you vape?

That is the normal color but I do notice my other juice that is lighter getting darker as the tank gets lower. Is that from condensation?

Case, I'm not an expert. I just remember reading something in one of the other threads about juice darkening...and it can be an indication of problems. I'm going to leave that question to the experienced people on this thread. I just thought that juice looked very dark and wondered if it was scorched.

From what other people have said regarding the darkening of juices, it might be a result of carmelization of sugars in the juice from the flavorings running back down the wick into the tank.

Finally had a few minutes....

Third try, well second really. I broke the wire on the second try tightening the smaller post. (neg post?)

My "I" is just a hair past the wick. If I leave the cover just a tiny bit less than tight it lines up.

My only complaint, if you can call it that, is that my top cap is a tiny bit crooked and it does lean just a tad when set down on end.
Other than that, great taste, decent vapor which I think will improve.
The button is fine. It could be just a tad easier to push, but seems to be working just fine.

Excellent work faceless!

Ok, I'll take a stab at this one: Your coil looks good in the pic. Looks about the right size so its not hitting the cap but is it toughing the bottom of the tank? Its not supposed to if it is. Make sure your wick can slide up and down through the coil also. Have you tried doing a dry burn with the tank empty? Your coil should glow evenly. If all of that is good then how about your battery? If all else fails have you watched Zens video on coil and setup? Here's the link zenesis coil basics - YouTube

Did it help?
Only other thing I see is the gap at the top of the coil to the poss. Post needs to be almost nothing, just about touching.

Helped out a lot. Much better vapor flavor is better but not great. I also switched out for the mushroom screw and like the draw much better. Any way to stop the air hole from whisteling? Noise is driving me nuts! Lol

Wick is not touching the bottom. Wick can slide but coil is touching all the way around. Zen's video was a lifesaver. Tried the 1st night for 3 hours without luck. Watched Zen's video and did one on the 1st try. Battery is good. Keegan's tips really helped and it's much better. Thanks for the tips.

The whistle only happens if I draw hard or if I just cleaned the top out.
Every genisis atty I have does this.
The loss of flavor is probably due to the caramelized juice that's in the tank now.

More than likely I'm used to hitting a HH357 which takes a much stronger draw.
