holy crap, Ive been gone for two days and this thread has really been movin. Haven't caught up, and I just got off work so here is my ? Has any more info about the green anodized parts contest on tuesday been stated? Other than its happening at 8pm. Oh and is that central time?

central time, no details have been released

I don't get it... p90x diminishes appetite?

I don't think appetite makes you strong

Well it looks like my pluid won't get here till Tue. of next week due to the holiday. USPS is soo frustrating at times. Sort facility it processed through 2 hrs. ago is only like an hr. and a half away. If it posts that it's at my local sort facility before I have to leave for work at 2 you better bet I'm gonna pick it up. Now that's stalking!

I live in a small beach town. My mail actually never goes to an actual post office. Straight from a small sort facility out for delivery. Don't think I won't go in there. I've done it before.

You can get slightly fatter o-rings for the Trippy tips to solve some of the air-flow issue. I do like how the hole is now as the trippy's stay in just fine, but I can still get them out easily. I have tanks where I worry about breaking the Trippy tips trying to get them out.

We're not talking about the hole in the PV that the tip goes into, that's fine. We're talking about the hole in the tip meant for dripping through. Ones that are really too small to effective as "drip" tips make awesometastic mouthpieces for genisis style attys. My fiance's has a little less than a 1/8 inch diameter opening and it's totally awesome. Mine Sagewood is a bit over 1/8 inch and works just fine. My Trippy has an opening a bit over 1/4 inch and it's not nearly as good. It's pretty, but the performance is just better with the smaller opening. I just commissioned another Sagewood a few days ago and I asked them specifically to make the opening nice and small.

So a question for people who have changed their springs. How the heck do you get that screw out? I can't break mine loose!

I couldn't get mine apart.. I took to to Zen. LOL

On vacation and somehow still logging in.

Anybody play with offset coils and can chime in their experience?

Currently running a 4 wrap with bottom most coils closer together and further apart as I go up.

My reasoning was liquid gets to the bottom part of the wick faster than the top part.

If anybody can correct me or give me more ideas to play around with I'm all ears!

Not sure if its visible but a pic of what I mean. So far, its much more mellow and consistent but I might tear the coil down to try something else. I tried the same config upside down and it wasn't fun.

Try the twisted 32g wrap

Been trying but my twisting skills are horrible.

What does twisting do exactly? More surface area? How does it affect ohmmage?

Edit: Read it lowers resistance. Any benefit of twisting 32g instead of going to 30g? Just ordered some 30g kanthal.

Double edit: Anybody try 28g wire yet?

I believe twisting and going to a thicker gauge pretty much accomplish the same thing. Emonte on the Zen forum posted that he was running 28g doing a 4/3 wrap and was really liking the shorter draws he was having to take. Might wanna hit him up.

For the one by the positive, get the top of the wick as close and humanly possible to the pos post. For the negative, make sure it comes straight out to the post and as close to the bottom as possible. If it runs too high up it has too much room and if it's too loose to the bottom coil it has extra space off to the side where it doesn't touch. I also kink mine slightly at the spot where it connects to the wick. Seems to do the trick for me!

Hahaha I'm wishing my coils will pop so I can experiment. Throwing out a perfectly good coil makes me sad.

Wharf, when starting the first wrap for the coil try to pull it taunter. Don't wrap it hard but when starting the first coil make sure there is minimal slack on the wire.

Too often I'm getting the wire leading to the + post both + and - post glowing. Usually if I fire long enough the whole coil will glow. Both wicks have been pre-ox'd zen wicks (thanks Fox5 :)) and the first one I re-oxidized.... Thoughts ???

Is this with a dry burn?

For the most part yes. I just took everything apart and cleaned the tank, made a new coil a top 3 coils to glow and the forth right after.. Yay !!! Still as the wick dries, the top glows first, I imagine that's normal ?

BTW Face I noticed when I put the top cap on so the o-ring fits into the groove, the tank is longer than the space between the base and the top cap. I think that has been the cause of my leaking, maybe ???

Top coil glowing first is normal. The juice has to travel up. Dry burn, they should glow evenly.

Make sure with the iHy tilted you don't see the top coil glowing first though. If it eventually starts glowing, going to get some funky taste from burnt juice.

I was able to isolate the wick from the SS with Rolling Paper. Only way I can get it to not pop a coil. I am 100% positive on my oxidize process. I use the folded method for the lead edge. Still popping coils over and over unless I use the rolling paper down through the SS part of the tank.

Reading over the posts from Chief Thunder made me want to try out Twisted Coils. Works great so far. No isolator and no popped coils. Grabbed the good camera to get a pic for you all.

Meter shows 1.3 ohms

Looks awesome! Might have to break my current coil to try it out.
