Where you least expect it....
That's a nice trick. Also had problems with coils popping. Must have wasted 5ft of kanthal LOL. Might go ahead and try that out sometime.

I actually found that my problem was that I didn't oxidize the wick well enough. Along with it touching the center post.

Biggest problem that I have now is that it isn't wicking fast enough. So, I'm getting a bunch of dry hits.

I was able to isolate the wick from the SS with Rolling Paper. Only way I can get it to not pop a coil. I am 100% positive on my oxidize process. I use the folded method for the lead edge. Still popping coils over and over unless I use the rolling paper down through the SS part of the tank.

Reading over the posts from Chief Thunder made me want to try out Twisted Coils. Works great so far. No isolator and no popped coils. Grabbed the good camera to get a pic for you all.

Meter shows 1.3 ohms

Thanks for the quick reply. Gonna try offsetting the coils and see if that has any effect. Already tried making the wick skinny and fat but, that doesn't seem to help unfortunately. The top always seems to dry out way to quickly.

When making the fat wick try using more mesh. More mesh -> better wicking.

Also I try to make as small a inside hole possible now and pinch the top of the wicks. The mesh holds the juice so I want more juice stored in my wick.

Offsetting the coils is great fun! The hard part for me is keeping the ohmmage down while offsetting it right.

Luckily I "borrowed" a kick from a buddy. Hope mine arrives before I have to return it. I'm metering 2+ ohms with all my offset coils. I know I'm using way too much wire.

Edit: Also try a short wick. I find it helps wicking but could be in my head. I have no real way to test but with a short fat wick/offset coils not having single dry hits. As long as the wick is in juice, I'm good.

That's probably what I'm doing wrong. I used the same amount of wick in either case. Just out of curiosity...what do you mean by offsetting the coils. My idea of it might be totally different from what you mean.

Congratulations on getting a kick. Those are really hard to come by since I never see them in stock. Nor do I ever get any notifications when I sign up.

Will try a shorter wick as well in combination with a fat wick. What kind of mesh are you using? I'm using a 400 right now along with a 32 kanthal.

Currently playing around with 325 wrapped around 400. I did just order 500 since another forum member posted that it wicked even better than a 400.

Make the bottom coils closer to each other and than top ones to have more of a gap.

Think they're still in stock. I just ordered mine a few hours ago. Will PM you the vendor since I don't want to clutter Faceless's thread.

I guess I'm one of the few that went through overwicking issues first. Without the kick I was getting pathetic vapor due to overflooding with high wrap coils (basically anything over 3). Getting wicking issues after heavy chainvaping with the kick at my preferred wattage with a 4 wrap, thus my need to try 500. I guess I could get another iHy and rotate. I have chainvaped carto tanks till the point dremel slots wasn't feeding it fast enough. I seem to go through bursts of continuous vaping. Just putting this out to for perspective.

What juice are you using and how hard do you chainvape?

Edit: Anybody know why 325 is recommended for VG juices? I hear it thrown around a lot but I can't figure out why. Done my own testing and higher mesh count all seem to naturally wick better. My only theory is that 325 has better flavor due to the higher amount juice it should theoretically hold.

For the most part yes. I just took everything apart and cleaned the tank, made a new coil a top 3 coils to glow and the forth right after.. Yay !!! Still as the wick dries, the top glows first, I imagine that's normal ?

BTW Face I noticed when I put the top cap on so the o-ring fits into the groove, the tank is longer than the space between the base and the top cap. I think that has been the cause of my leaking, maybe ???

What leaking? You mean under the tank sleeve?

I make sure I'm 100%, I use a volt meter, an oxidized wick shouldn't conduct

Has anyone experienced excessive condensation with the tank?

Do you mean under the tank sleeve? If so PM me, I need to send you a new tank, don't worry its free lol

Virginia is for vapers
Some more information: For anyone having vapor production issues, and your juice is darkening in the tank. Your wick is not oxidized far enough down and is shorting out on the wick hole. Plain and simple. Take the wick out and douse it in VG heavy juice and light it. Let it burn out, and then repeat 3-4 more times.

Also, if the bottom button is real stiff, and it takes a lot of force to fire: Take the spring out and simply reverse it. You will find that this will greatly reduce the amount of pressure needed to fire the device.

I know a lot of you are on the HOH thread and saw this already, but I wanted to post it here too. My new PV stand...perfect for iHy too!! Keeps the wick in the juice, so no dry hits when you pick it up!!

Faceless, I added tank to my colored sets order, because mine has been leaking under the sleeve.

Also, I bought another iHybrid from someone and might need a tank for that as well....is that possible?

I don't remember you ordering 2? Did you get it from me? If you got it from the place I cant mention, it already has the updated spring and tank :) Let me know before tuesday, I'm shipping colors that day :)

Not upset, I have mentioned before, I don't care about any Zen product mentioned here, or links, as long as your not selling one lol. I have the up most respect for Zen, I even promote his attys lol, post links when they are somewhere, I wouldn't mind picking up a few for my GG. I don't even know what the dragon looks like but I want one lol. Post a link when they are ready also lol. I don't really follow his thread anymore, I just don't like posting in there, a few people don't like me in there. So I just stay here and in the pluid and trippy thread, because thats all I need, an iHybrid, trippy tips and pluid. I'm easy to please lol

This thing freaking rocks Faceless! The threads are super smooth...finish is perfect...and the vapor production/taste is incredible. This is my first genesis style device, and I'm absolutely blown away! Best $250 I've ever spent on vape gear. Want to see some blue tubes!

Thanks, I appreciate that!! Blue tubes will be next with purple
