So, I got mine today... I was excited.... But...

I cannot get over the locking mechanism... Is it just me or to turn and lock that thing is a pain... It had actually jammed, the threading on mine was for the lack of better word... crap... If I could pick one part to be stainless steel I would;ve picked that since I am used to smooth locking mechs..

Like its still flaking aluminun as I turn it, is it supposed to be a grinding feeling to turn the lock?

Havent fire this bad boy up as I am ocd and I cannot get over this for the love of god...... Can I lube up the threads or something?

That sucks, man.. I think you got a dud, mine has been perfect from day one

If you’re having trouble with hot spots I suggest wrapping your coil with a syringe needle inserted in the wick to keep it tight.

that i will have to try. i did it by hand and am pretty good rolling by hands :winkwink:

AND, turn the PV. Works better than trying to wrap the wire around the wick. That was the tip that solved it for me, with or without rolling paper.

i saw the zen's vid of that. definitely was turning it. i may have made my wicks too thin. didn't realize the mesh was gonna be so flippyfloppy.

otherwise i got it at least running. having to hold it at like 2 to get it full o juice so it doesn't get hot spots. i rolled two wicks, tried the rolling paper, worked but shortly after got a hot spot. will refer to the ihy gdoc that got made up to see how big to cut the wick, but i did something around 2.25x5 cm. but i'll definitely use the syringe.

i used a propane torch to oxidize and it went pretty quick imo. i have a butane torch, but it's a lil girl compared to the propane. so i oxidized, rolled, and yeah. hot spots. just new to gennies. i'd heard that it takes a lil getting used to. will try rolling better later ;P thanks all, and thanks FACE for such a badass mod. after i got it working, it's a ....... cannon. ferreal

I haven't tried this and don't know if it's even possible but have you tried taking the switch apart. Removing the brass screw and once apart, unscrewing the locking ring? I would guess it would screw all the way out so you can get a look see at what is going on in there and maybe then take a picture. I may try it now just to see if it can be done and will report back.....wait for the edit. :)

Yes it can be done, maybe lube with a lil Vaseline.

Yea honestly it can take a long time to get your first Genesis going.

As a crutch and "purists" will argue this day and night resort to rolling papers. No joke. Wrap the part of your wick that the coil goes on in about two wraps of rolling paper. Use VG or juice to stick into place and then wrap your coil. On a dry wick when you fire it, it will burn the paper to ash leaving a perfect carbon layer right under your coil. This is the same thing you are doing when oxidizing your wick.

That trick got me over the hump with building a DID on a ProVari. That thing was a nightmare....you couldn't even find the short before the ProVari E1'd and cut all power.

If you quench your wick(some do and some don't) it makes it stiffer. I still quench most of my wicks.

I’m not usually a fan of red things, but these look so good. I may have to get one in every color except purple lol.

I don't know lol, the purple is pretty sick!!

I just fixed my tank short without a torch, Gas stove FTW...lol. I'm really surprised it worked...usually the stove doesn't have enough heat but I guess if you flame it long enough and it's a minor short it can work.

I LOL everytime I see FTW LOL

Glad yall got some iHy's today!!

Noflex was PM'd and taken care of. He said he got it and its working like a charm! on that note: The threads are all custom, you cant tap them, they are small threads and even dirt will make it feel rough. I recommend vaseline or no-ox-id, it will lube and clean your threads, it isnt needed though, just makes it were you dont have to clean the threads as much :) Also, I take pride in my customer service, if your not happy with anything just shoot me a PM, I'll take care of you next business day. Also, a few people didn't get them directly from me and I have no control over what the other "people I can't talk about" have done with it, like take it apart, cross thread it, play light saber wars, etc. I was very nervous using that method and I finished my website today, now to just wait and get ECF approval and I will sell everything directly also :)

Just in case anyone forgot, not me LOL my appointment notification just went off. Faceless is having a contest tonight for a green tube set, everybody ready? I know I am

Wow! It would be so cool to add green to the black and red.. Although, I may never use any color but red... It really turned out well.

I watched but didn't see or hear any farting (that is what toots were when I grew up :D), and what is this v3? I thought we were on V1, the proto and then the official version V1 which those who received a proto got as a replacement or a backup. :p

I was going to polish out these tubes but the finish has really grown on me...glad I left it alone. It's like the only PV I have that I don't have to constantly hit with a micro fibre towel.

Might still polish out the top cap but that doesn't get handled. I'll save doing that until your site is up and you have extras for sale :D
