Site looks good faceless.
The Murdock version is beautiful!
Almost wish I could afford one.... but as pretty as that green is, it just isn't purple.
Ok!
The Petar K method.
From someone who's wrapping skills leave mucho much to be desired, I think once you have the right size "tools"
it's much easier than the "traditional" methods we've all been using.
I took a flashlight and dug through the hubby's tool boxes in the shed and found a nail and a drill bit.
After wasting lots of wire, the nail was closer to the size I needed.
I did have to re-roll the mesh; after having to make it slightly smaller, LOL
I also had a hard time wrapping the wire outside of the device.
I put the nail in and wrapped the wire around it like I normally would a wick.
The only heat that has touched the mesh so far has been from the coil itself. I didn't oxidize at all.
It's clear to the bottom of the tank, and most likely touching through the wick hole as well.
I'm getting a little bit of red wire at the very top, and the flavor is lacking a little bit, but the vapor is much better than my previous attempts.
But.... it's a method I'll use most often.
I think with just a little practice I can get this method down.
I may use an oxidized wick, only because I'm thinking I get better flavor.
I don't know yet.
