I have a question. Im getting a bad burnt taste. I have been using my wick and coil since Vapercon. Does it need to be changed? It still fires good. coils are red. Could it be the wick? or both? Thanks in advance for an info.

Be willing to bet the coil is about to pop

That's great news (not the coil part)..

I've had coils last months, and then some...

If you're getting a burnt taste, its likely a wicking problem.

Fire it (hold at normal vaping angle) with the top cap off. Bet coils still start to glow a little too soon..

Try increasing your angle, and ensure the center of the wick is open (depending on the wick set-up you have), and isn't pinched closed at the top.

I'm not anymore either, but, you know, pipe mod, want to give it a go... Looking for a nice pipe tobacco, not a cig tobacco..
The pipe maker highly recommended their light french roast coffee flavor as well. Actually, thats who they made it for..

Take the wick out and either roll another one, or torch that one, rinse, let dry, and try.

Probably your wick (but you could fix it be wrapping a less hot coil) or gunk buildup. Every week or two I need to clean the coils or I get nasty taste.

I would just take the topcap off and fire and see what's happening. You might be able to fiddle it back into working.

Another suggestion is to take out the wick unroll it and when you do the crusties fall off and then re roll it and new coil and your back in business.

You should get in the habit of checking the coil/wick every once in awhile.

Sometimes at work my coil/wick would randomly short from being knocked around. Been carrying around bamboo toothpicks to readjust the coils at work.

VA wants the Telescopic model which is a little harder to find right now. Still not sure on the mod, depends if the top part is the same as the original Gus/Paps.

Oh nice! I need to send my Jazz back or find a wood worker who can shorten my piece so I can use with a DuD.
