Yeah, I wish I had... Wish I would have skipped right over those Blu cigs - LOL. At least they did open my eyes to other available stuff.

Same for me. Got mine at a Walgreens and a week later I moved up to an Ego battery with a clearomizer.

You don't have to oxidize just be really good at getting out the shorts. Start at the top of the coil and where ever it stops glowing work there till it moves down the coil to the bottom.

Has anyone else had issues with unoxidized wicks not wicking as well as oxidized ones? Maybe it's just me...

From my super non-scientific methods I found unoxidized meshes to wick less efficiently than the same mesh # oxidized.

You can compensate by going higher mesh # or using more mesh material.

Real world usage, you really need to nit pick to notice.

Good luck! Took me awhile to find a setup I like and I'm still playing around looking for the next best vape.

Well my first go at a coil was an epic fail...:glare: Hot spot on top wind and it popped before I could figure it out. Bout to give it another try. Wish me luck! lol I will need it.

A few hints for you on that top coil. Lean just slightly towards the positive post helps close that disrance. Make sure wick is well oxidized and not touching the bottom of rhe tank just close

Gawd I hate sounding like a broken record, but make sure you check out the Reference Links ATX :) There's a TON of stuff on wicking and coiling. The link is in my Signature block, fyi. Good luck!

for me it was ego-t, BB, iHy

Jeeze, I did a gas station brand....can't remember the name....then a couple companies that took me for a lovely financial ride....then Vapor4Life (they weren't bad....pricey, yes, but they had a forum and the social networking helped me more than anything). Then, Egos, LavaTubes, etc., etc. Phew....I wish I had just the money back I spent on cartomizers.

I did, I did! I read every link before my iHy even shipped. I was just super tired still and it popped before I could use any of those tips... Don't hate me! It was my first ever go at the Genesis.

I would hate to actually work through all of the devices I tried. I lasted one day on some cheap cigalike, then found a great B&M in my town, got started on egos, then jumped to a Provari. Wasn't long and I was all over ECF & youtube. I saw the pbusardo/Zen~ interview, and I was toast. Zens, Lines, DIDs, an Orion, Caravela, sooo much money. Along the way I found myself here.... Home. Gotta love a modder that builds quality AND quantity. Lately, I've been hanging out in co-op land.

Yeah see my Ex wouldn't let me get anything smaller than the ego-t, as like most new people I didn't want something so big. which I guess what I never understood is he has like 15 batteries that I could have used, so why didn't he just give me a couple of his old ones to start with lol
