And what is option 2?

the other option is having 4 cutouts on switch and raised keys on firing switch, you would have to turn it to the open slots so keys fit in it, and pull the bottom switch out of the keys and turn it to lock it, hard to explain, there would be no tools required :)

Makes sense, and I like that concept.

Here is the superT switch just for reference. Kinda similar just has 2 cut outs rather than 4

Dude I like both ideas really. The image you posted reminds me of those tactical flashlights that double as a CQC weapon :D I do think a locking switch would be more favorable by most.

I'm having trouble though thinking how this design would ever be fired by accident. If you put it in your pocket, you would have to physically push down, and there would have to be some object the size of a finger beneath it. I think it's a very cool idea.

it would set more recessed without kick

It would still flucuate with delrin going up and down, there is no lock with this design, the other design locks without a lock ring and would use a key method

Opinions??

Resembles the P+ switch without the locking mechanism. Personally, I liked the existing switch, but would like it better without all the knurling, more like my Caravela.
