Nice I can't wait. I've seen almost all of his work and am a big fan. Reservoir Dogs was the first thing I saw and I was really young at the time. Him and Rodriguez do great work together

I just got around to watching Machete the other night. I don't know how I missed that one before, but it is epic. I love Rodriguez.

4/3 wrap of 32 kanthal is what he said :) Lots of gunk/buildup and muted flavor. Coil takes too long to heat up. I'm thinking wicks too fat

Yeah the buildup I would assume would be boiling juice... I've never used 32g myself, I have 28g and 30g. I run a 3/4 of 28g on a fat wick and end up at about .9-1 ohm with that after it's broke in (please read battery caution in spreadsheet before getting into sub 1 ohm coils as it can be dangerous and stress your batteries) so I would guess 4/3 of 32g would be pretty high ohm.

Tried swapping top caps this afternoon. Macaveli and iHybrid are pretty interchangeable. Give the spyder a flat top. And make the Mac look like a bishop...

Need to come up with a custom short based connector driptip for the Mac top cap, if fully inserted it is an ultra tight draw experience.

Hill Giant! I enjoyed your show the other night. Sorry I couldn't stay but I get up for work at a godawful hour in the mornings :( I'll try to catch part of it again..LOL.

Yay! I'm glad you liked it. I might be ruining the surprise (I don't think it's a surprise?), but Mr. Faceless has agreed to come on as a guest in the near future when I review the Synthesis. I'll definitely let you guys know when that happens.

I think 90% of his problem is overwicking, if the coil is oversaturated (expecially in certain spots) it wont light evenly and doesnt vape as well because the extra juice on the coil stops it from heating up propperly, I've found in my limited experience that my best vape is when hardly any juice ever touch's the coil, when it instead heats the juice in the wick. Thats why I'm pretty excited to try the pyrex hybrids because the juice CAN'T touch the coil.

If you like the way it's wicking you can always just lower the resistance by dropping a coil and/or twisting two wires together (twisted kanthal, I use 32g for this). Otherwise pinch the end of your wick if you use a hollow wick, tilt less, or make a new wick that doesnt pull as much juice.

Alright... so I've gone through a whole tank on this wick and I'm still not getting strong, clean flavor. 2x3" #500 mesh cut to just below the positive post and not touching the bottom of the tank. Rolled the wick so it slides in and out of the wick hole with minimal resistance. 4/3 wrap of 32ga Kanthal. Coiled on the wick because the PeterK method was driving me crazy with some of the coils touching good and others not touching enough. Coil lights evenly. No hotspots after some tweaking. After a full tank the flavor is still muted. Using an 18350 until my 650s come in. I have to take a few primer puffs to get full vapor. Seems to take a while for the coil to heat. I'm not getting anywhere near the instant glow I've seen from other people's iHy vids.

Any ideas on what may be going wrong? I'm getting good vapor production after the coils finally heat up but no throat hit and weak flavor. Vaping Pluid. Coil and mesh also are gunking up pretty bad after a couple hours. Coils are all touching the mesh, if they were tighter they would restrict wicking. The biggest thing is that it takes so long for the coils to glow when they're dry. Like maybe I'm getting a big voltage sag/droop somewhere in the chain. I've done noalax on the threadings and tube ends and cleaned it off to get nice clean surfaces.

I'm at a loss.

planning a trip to Scotland next year, you provide room and board for me and the mrs? I can pay in vaping gear lol

Dude, you swing by my house anytime, as long as you can put up with one Mental working cocker spaniel, me not being there as I'll be in the shed all the time and my missus getting you to do odd jobs round the house (you think I'm kidding LOL), well you'll love it here :D
