I just re-wicked my dripper with cotton...HOLY S!

Someone sent me some five pawns Grandmaster on a trade. I had it in an evod last night and it was "OK". Didn't like it all that much because there was a flavor I couldn't ID that was "weird" to me. I looked it up again and it was peanut butter, banana cream, and caramel. So it was the banana that was the weird one, because I could taste the other two.

I'm not much on banana so I chalked it up to a very good juice that just isn't my bag.

Decided to rewick my dripper and try again--WOW, that banana is really good and I can tell that it's banana. I'm amazed at the difference!

fasttech is the way to go if u can wait. I always select usps epacket and Get it about 10 business days after it ships. I would say get maybe the Russian 91% http://www.fasttech.com/search?russian 91% that looks really nice it's my next buy. I just got a Taifun GS http://www.fasttech.com/product/1570800-taifun-gs-style-rebuildable-atomizer-2-7-3-0ml for a RBA. There are much cheaper options also. For a RDA maybe try the Patriot it's nice http://www.fasttech.com/products/0/10007050/1604700-patriot-style-rebuildable-dripping-atomizer I also have the same dripped Alisa posted but in gold and it works very well http://www.fasttech.com/products/0/10004860/1395701-rda-mini-rebuildable-dripping-atomizer-1-0ml. I use kanthal 28 or 30 gauge wire for the coil and for a wick I have Cotton braided candle wicking and use organic cotton balls.

What type of cotton? I see this a lot and am always curious. I've heard of people replacing the flavor wicks in Kangers with cotton and it making all the difference.

I just took cotton from a Q-tip...boiled it and let it dry. I've been replacing my flavor wicks on my evods and Aro with it with good results but I was sort of afraid to replace the actual wick because I thought the coil was too small to thread the cotton through.

I took out the wick with tweezers (required a bit of pulling) and dry-burned the coil. I took a small amt of cotton and rolled it in my fingers to create a thin "rope", and used a needle-threader to pull it through the coil. Used fingernail clippers to trim the edges, and put another bit of cotton on top for the flavor wick.

Since this was my first attempt, it took about 15 minutes. The second one took about 5. The dripper took all of 20 seconds.:D

For 4 bucks and some change you can get a lifetime supply of organic cotton balls from walgreens. I don't boil the organic cotton but if it's non organic I'd defiantly boil it.

I'm about to order way more than I should from Fasttech

Thanks for the explanation! Wouldn't using cotton as the actual wick pose a potential burn hazard that other primary wick materials don't?

From my reading/studying, you don't want any cotton that's been processed with anything to whiten it. There are boiling/drying methods abundant here, and on YouTube.

Also, the cotton will never burn as long as it's saturated with vliquid. So, if you do a DRY burn, you of course remove the cotton wick..... otherwise

Yeah, my first order I went with their standard free option and that took a month.

2nd order I chose "China epacket" and it came in two weeks, and still free. :thumb:

I figured I'd spend for the possibility of two days earlier :)

Do you ever notice your wick taking on the color of this lil rebuildable? Saw a grimm green video ince and he showed the wick turned green, from the color of the dripper & I have hesitated getting anything but stainless since then. :-/
I know you didn't ask me, but I got this one and it comes pre-wicked. Along with it, I bought a pack of 10 pre-wicked coils to replace when needed. I works great and you only put 4-5 drops for about 10 minutes of vaping. Great for tasting.

$4.77 RDA Mini Rebuildable Dripping Atomizer (1.0mL) - 2.4

$2.35 Replacement Wicks and Wires for Rebuildable atomizer (10-Pack) 10-pack - 1.8 ohm at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

Sounds like I should've been more patient and waited the additional 3 days for this to ship.

Oh well!

You know what's the worst? Having a ton of vape mail that would've delivered today if not for President's Day.

Unlike Kat, patience is not one of my virtues.

Got a 19mm standard ibtanked coming. Got a few 5 packs of cartos coming. Got a new VV also arriving. Got some more juices as well. It's like an early birthday gift.
