Since NY State Sen. Kemp Hannon, R-Garden City, of the Senate Health Committee is so concerned about any "dangerous threat to the health and safety of New Yorkers” I suggest that New Yorkers contact him and insist that his legislation result in a bigger return in terms of health and safety. Banning e-cigarettes would prevent zero deaths, because there have not been any deaths linked to e-cigarette use. Chantix is linked to 272 deaths--and those are just the documented suicides.

The FDA recently published an article complaining about the number of Adverse Events they have received about e-cigarettes: 47 across the past 4 years, with 8 of them classified as "serious". In contrast, there have been more than 35,000 Adverse Event reports on Chantix, with over 10,000 classified as serious.

..... ..... BTW , a lot of coverage today, is this a sign of something or just August filler?

Yup. In the UK press they call August 'the silly season' because there is no news (lots of people on vacation and government partially shut down), so they have to use a lot of filler.

How many chemicals are there in 1 cup of coffee ?

Scientists have identified 1,000 different chemicals in a cup of coffee. But how many of the 1,000 chemicals have been tested in animal cancer studies? Only 22--leaving 978 compounds in your morning java about which we know very little. And of those 22 that were tested, were any found to be carcinogens, or cancer-causing compounds? Seventeen of the 22 are, in fact, carcinogens.
