Had my new ecig for a few days. Today is my first day where I'm trying to go tobacco free. So far so good, but...

I feel the need to carry an analog or two with me, just in case. I haven't had any failures yet (batteries, atamoizers, etc.). Though I don't want to be caught without and having a nic fit because the atomizer died or something.

Wondering who else carries one or two spare analogs, just in case.

better to carry extra supplies instead, imo. mostly because to always have backup cigarettes might be a waste of money.

Agreed. Spare battery, bit of juice and an atomiser. No cigarettes around since day 1. I can honestly say that for the first time in a 'quit attempt' I really don't feel that I am just one calamity away from going back on the cigarettes. :)

I haven't bought premade analogs in over a year and a half. I would not buy premades analogs either. My problem is I have little more than 5 lbs of baccy left, although the unopened 5 pounds are sold, but not delivered, to a friend in another state. Of the remaining quarter pound I have left and opened, I think I will give it away to someone here who I know stuffs his own.

I don't believe analogs will tempt me once I have no more baccy left in this house. I never carry analogs with me when I am out of the house, but do what works for you. We will all deal with the switch from analogs to e-smoking in the ways that work best for us. If carrying analogs provides a sense of safety for you, then by all means, take them with you.

I had 2 packs left when my first e-cig came. Gave away 1 pack that night, and have used the other as a backup since then(came in handy at those times when I was so ...... off I couldn't bother with my e-cig). I have 1 analog left but don't plan to buy anymore when it is gone. It is nice to have as a backup, but I will not feel that I have actually quit until that last one is out of my life.

Carrying "just in case" analogs seems like a waste of money. And open pack of cigarettes will go stale in a week or less. After smoking an e-cig for a few weeks, fresh analogs taste awful, if you tried to smoke a stale analog you wouldn't be able to no matter how bad you needed the nicotine. So you'll end up tossing the just in case cigs and buy a new pack anyway. It's easy enough to bum one from someone or just buy a pack.

I don't have any to hand just in case I'm tempted in a moment of weakness but I do still have four small cigars left over from the transitional period.

I would smoke them if absolutely everything failed (unlikely considering the stockpile) but since I don't really like cigars, I'm not tempted in the meantime.

As we all know though, anything will do rather than nothing - I've looked longingly at the leaves of house plants when trying to quit cold turkey before.

As has been said, if your e-cig(s) failed, couldn't you just buy analogs?

I have the pack I was smoking when my e-cig arrived about 3 weeks ago. Honestly, I don't think I can or will ever go back to analogs. I'll probably get some Nicorette gum if the e-cig fails.

Although, I'm acquiring quite a stash of parts and juice. I carry 3 batteries and 3 atomizers with me. It would have to be a catastrophic failure for all my parts to die before I get home to my backup supply.
