LOL yeah my mom used to send me the "Readers Digest" clippings with men in iron lungs. I wonder did that mag have a certain amount of CIGARETTES ARE BAD, MMMKAY articles they had to do in a single year.

I walked past my familiar smoke spot (big ashtray/garbage can thingie) at work and almost passed out. Terrible. O.M.G.

I'm not sure if this has been posted already because it is late and I stopped reading a little over halfway through the thread, but not having to interrupt a poker, board, or other card game with nonsmoking friends to go take a smoke break is simply awesome!
I do miss the ladies at my local tobacco/beer store. Walmart is now selling their Bud Light 18 pk bottles for $3 less than the "discount" store, so I hardly ever get to gossip with my girls. The liquor store that I frequent is next door to them so I pop in every now and then :)

Not having an armada of ashtrays strategically positioned around the house at all the different 'smoke' stations..or..carting (remembering to) one around with you from place to place to place and forgetting to pick it up from the last place most of the time...

Not having your 'territory' marked with piles of ashes at your favorite chairs and sofa...

No more smoke staining my PVC figurines! My PC cables no longer getting sticky brown gunk on. Feeling much healthier in general. Having something tasty around at any given moment. Having a lot more money to spend. Me and my room not smelling like old ashtrays and gunk, improving my sense of smell and taste.

One of the first "big" things I noticed, and it took about 3 months, was my sense of taste changed dramatically. It was like my taste buds came alive. Everything was more intense, and foods I'd been eating for decades started to taste a bit different. Most tasted much better, but a few things changed and I no longer liked them. Some of the more intense things were Lemon Drops....been eating them all my life (my dad got me addicted) and now they're so much more sour......and brushing my teeth! The toothpaste mint flavor became so intense my eyes would water......and swishing with Listerine.....OMG......
