DEEP IN THE HEART OF TEXAS!
i have a brachiocephalic dog, a pug (flat face), snorts and snores...
i dont know if it's a coincidence, but now, after two days of heavy vaping (being off from work, so i have been home all day), and her lying on the top of the couch almost behind my head, she's started to have a croupy cough, and once coughed so much that she gagged and foam came out of her mouth. she keeps acting like her tongue is real dry, smacking her lips, as if her tongue is sticking to the roof of her mouth. hard to explain. just very unusual for her.
i put the celiing fans on...
never had a problem before e-smoking. i smoked Eclipse ciggies in the house (if you dont know what Eclipse are, they are analog cigs that put out smoke but with no odor, and they don't ash/burn, just heat)....
i hope this is not the end of my vaping days....dadgummit.
p.s. mind you, dont know if dogs can catch human's colds-but i have been sick with an upper respiratory infection-bad sore throat, laryngitis for 3 days now....so dont know ift that is the connection either

i have a small chihuahua-terrier mix and i have been smoking in the house lately and havent noticed anything out of the ordinary except he can smell it and licks his lips ocassionally. never smoked my eclipse in the house so i dont have much to compare it with. perhaps its your type of dog or e-cig formula. im using vg currently due to allergy. good luck

|have 2 pugs & an English bulldog- when I smoked real cigs one of the pugs hated it & always took off while the other 2 dogs never budged nor reacted ! mind you I always kept a good ventilation going but that was for our sake ..
now with the e-cigs the "sensitive" one doesn't even react & continues to lie near me..and we are 3 of us vaping here..truly don't think you should worry..one of my pugs caught mild cold with winter coming around but no clue if you have any type of cold weather in Texas!

it's getting worse..she's coughing and gagging, occasional foam coming up because she is having such a dry cough. it looks like her mouth and tongue are so dry. she wont drink any water. i am gonna have to cease from vaping in the house today to see if there is any correlation. this is scary. she looks miserable. amazing how eclipse smoke didnt bother her. it must be the propylene glycol stuff.

That breed is REAL susceptible to head and chest colds.
My guess it has the flu, just like you did, and i do now too (I HAD to go out of my hole to go shopping, now, sicker then hell :( )

Check with the vet, im sure its not the smokes, unless your huffing into its muzzle. There is no second hand smoke with these.

i hope so. yes the weather has been crazy. also i have been dogsitting a baby pug for a week. maybe she got kennel cough from him? but he (the baby 6 month old pug) doesnt show symptoms????
i just made her some chicken with rice soup lukewarm. hope she eats it. she is eating her regular food now. .
i pray she gets better.
yes i see you are one hour south of me, in austin. fellow pug owner! how cool!

I think it is the weather change. Im pretty much down the street from you and the weather has been really wacky. 36 deg 86 deg back to 36 and then 60. That is no good for any one.
I also have a pug and she get sick when the weather changes.

update-
took my pug to the vet. she got steroid shot and a prescription for antibiotics and cough meds. the vet thinks she just got a cold from the constant weather changes in past few weeks. cold to hot to damp to dry.
says pugs are prone to respiratory infections.
so i dont think it was from vapin...thank God, cuz now that i finally am able to quit smoking, i would hate to have vapin taken away from me!

Sounds like you got your stuff sorted out now.

Congrats!!:D:D

I'm still semi-patiently awaiting my Screwdriver from from Trog so I don't have to worry about batteries anymore.
