I still have to take breaks at work, although I do stealth vape more often. I'll vape openly when I first get into the office, but I'm the only one there for about an hour or so. Nobody in my actual office has a problem with me vaping, but there's a huge window that looks into the hallway and I'm afraid someone will see and have a fit. Our clients might not like it, either.

I did forget that smoking analogs slows wound healing and increases the risk of scarring from the wound. Right now I have a 1 month old today brown recluse spider bite on my upper thigh. This thing had me in bed with flu like symptoms for a week. It is still a 1 inch by 1/2 inch hole in my leg. I know these things take a long time to heal, but I might heal faster if I didn't smoke.

Oh man those suck. I got one on my belly that took 6 months to heal up (every once in a while it will open a corner and take a week to heal). If you have not been to the doctor go and get the antibiotic gel and pills and pack that sucker with gel and gauze and take your pills. Mine went from a dime size infection to a half dollar (if there is anyone who remembers those) in a few days.

constant state of confusion
I did go to the free clinic and get my pills and the gel and all of the lovely dead tissue removed. It just sucks cause it is right on the top of my thigh right in the middle. I have to wear shorts because pants hurt. So here it is October and I am wearing shorts and flip flops (I wear those til the snow flies. I have claustrophobic toes :). The one on my knee never got bigger than a pencil and is healing faster.

I can finally, truthfully, say no at the store parking lot when someone asks to bum a cigarette.:D

You're so much nicer than I am to even considering letting them down easy with a lie. I generally chase 'em off with questions like, "Doesn't it bother you to walk up to a perfect stranger and beg for something?", or say something like, "If you'll strip .... naked and run 3 laps around the parking lot screaming at the top of your lungs, I'll give you a whole pack."

When I was in a particularly nasty mood, I'd pull out my box of smokes and get one (letting them see that I had plenty), look them in the eye as I fired up, then say, "Nope.", and walk away.

Dude, that's harsh! But it did make me laugh.

Definitely! I work with a LOT of bummers, and being a guy that doesn't like to bum, people knew that I always had smokes. I even have the pull one out of the pack without taking the whole pack out thing down.

Another worry I no longer have: Leaving the house and having to return to make sure I didn't leave a burning cigarette in the ashtray. Still, though, I get that fear pang after I lock the door and begin to leave. hmmm.....when does all this baggage just leave for good????

I can relate. I almost caught the house on fire with a burning cigarette a few years ago even though I thought it was out, and it apparently was not.... Thank the Gods my hubby was home and put it out... The fan was blowing and a burning ash caught a nearby piece of paper and it all went downhill from there.

I had the opposite problem. I would leave the house, get halfway down the block and go back home to get my cigarettes and lighter because I didn't have enough money to buy more!

That's no joke too... When I started vaping (march 2010) cigarettes here were around 6.00 a pack after tax or 60.00 a carton. I was a carton and a half a week smoker. 5 weeks in a month = 450.00 a month. My car payment was less....

Fortunately, I drove an old car and didn't have to make payments. Otherwise, I would have had to give up my car. (You notice that giving up the cigs was not an option?)

I'm loving being able to get my fix whenever, wherever. I'm also glad I don't have to hear people complain when i come in from a smoke break about the stupid smokers and their stench. Now, even though I don't complain, I'm thinking it. WOW... How did I smoke those nasty smelling things for 18 years? I also feel better about being in the house vaping. I don't feel like I'm signing my kid and husband's premature death certificates....

LMAO... I was about at that point. People that see me vaping always ask me the same questions either/or. 1.) Are you trying to quit? or 2.) When are you going to lose the nic addiction? I always answer the same way, regardless of which question is asked.
A: I started vaping to save money. I never intended, nor do I now, to quit smoking. I just found a cheaper alternative...The possible health benefits of vaping and the fact that it doesn't stink is only a bonus.
