I used to have DAILY headaches. I was having to take something for it several times a day just to function. Since I quit the tobacco, my headaches are GONE, GONE, GONE!

Plus all of the other good stuff everyone else has already mentioned....

That headache was from the glue the cig makers use to make the cigarettes flame ......ant now.

A few years ago I stayed at the Kalahari in Wisconsin and they didn't allow smoking in the rooms or just about anywhere on site that I could find. I paid a fortune for the privilege of standing outside in the Wisconsin winter to smoke. I'm going back next month for a visit and I'm looking forward to vaping like a steam engine in my room. In fact, I'm tempted to send them an anonymous letter telling them what I plan on doing and there's nothing they can do about it just so I can picture their frustration in my head. :p

There was someone who posted they were fined for vaping in their room. It was such an absurd story! The maid said she could smell smoke from the corridor - which was obviously false! Bottom line, don't let your PV out in the open in you room - if they see it and figure out what it is, they will lie about smelling smoke.

Got to page 25 (10 posts per page) and just had to post mine.

Not having smokers hack after a 5 mile run.
Being able to sing cadence again to my Soldiers on a long run
Doing crossfit without feeling like I'm dying, still kicks my .... though!
Sitting next to a non smoker during training and getting the dirty look or the not to subtle scooting away as they try to get away from the smell.
Walking outside to smoke then the sinking feeling that I don't have a lighter.
The panicked searches through the house, car, house, mailbox, trash, "hiding places" when I realize that I need a cigarette NOW after stupidly deciding to try quitting cold turkey.
Not having to rationalize to myself why it's ok for me to smoke, "self, you can still outrun, out pushp and situp, out pull up and out ruck 90% of your Soldiers, you don't need to quit!"
Not saying to myself, "self, you can quit after you finish this newly purchased carton!" yeah right
Not having to find out where the smoke pit/area is at a weapons range...
Not worrying about lighting C4 residue while lighting a cigarette, yes I'm a dumb ....
Doing field training in the rain and when I go to smoke pulling out that soggy mess that used to be my smokes...
Same field training and chucking my lighter in rage cause the flint is wet...
Buying a $10 pack of smokes cause I ran out in the field and some smart entrepreneur non smoker bought a couple of cartons to sell to desperate smokers in the same field exercises... Hated/loved that guy
No more dried out nasty smokes while deployed... Ugh
No more burning lungs during a run
No more black spots in my vision during sprints
No more random packs of smokes found in various places squirreled away, "just in case".
My ruck has so much more space minus my 3 cartons of smokes for the field! Of course it's heavier now... With extra batteries
I'm sure there is more...

NEGATIVES
I can taste the food they cook in the field now...
I can taste MREs now...
The porta potties during field training are entirely too close, especcially after the 3rd day
Dead batteries mean an unhappy leader...
Vaping in the rain... Water in your atty anyone?
Who the heck thought vegetarian omelate would make a good MRE?

Being able to select any and every flavor you could think of!
Not waking up and standing on the porch every morning in your "Smoking Coat" just to get a morning fix (who else had a coat or something just for this purpose?)
Waking up in the morning to smell breakfast on the table!
Not stopping at the shell station after work every night and the cashier having 2 packs set aside for you.
Not having to change in the car right before a job interview and come in reeking like an ashtray and cheap cologne

I don't miss freezing my .... of in the cold with one glove off cause I hated the smell even as a smoker. Or the times it was so cold I did smoke with a glove on and had the smell until I washed the glove.

Just remembered a comment a family member made to me a while back, ,Why do most pictures of have you holding a cigarette?" Another was from a coworker, "man whenever I see you you're smoking..."

Great thread please forgive my multiple posts I just read the whole thread in one sitting.

BTW a low res stardust on an ego batt is awesome. No fiddling, great flavor, no leaking and great vapor!

One big thing I noticed, odd as this may seem.

A couple of weeks ago, the family and I went to McDonalds for supper, and I had a Quarter Pounder with Cheese, as a change of pace from my usual value menu choice. Tasted ok, had the usual oversalted fries and pop.
Now for the odd part.
Went back yesterday, and had the same thing. Right away I noticed something off. Then it hit me....I was tasting the QP/C for the first time in a long time! Other things have started tasting better as well.
Can't wait to get to a BK or Wendy's again.

I have actually found the opposite to be true. I used to eat way too much fast food due to convenience and the fact that I didn't care what it tasted like (because I couldn't taste it anyway). Now I can barely choke down fast food because I can taste how gross it is! This is a HUGE plus to me. I've had the same results when quitting analogs in the past, but I always seem to forget how quitting smoking seems to equate to drastically decreasing my intake of fast food. YAY!!

I can't wait to go have my favorite sushi now that I'm getting my taste buds back!

Have you ever tried smoking on a motorcycle with no windscreen, ya I don't miss that. Also, summers here are aweful, so I don't use AC in my car. Sounds wierd I know but my family is prone to heat exhaustion/strokes so it's important to stay acclimated to the heat so I won't die when I have to be out in it. I used to hate the fact that I couldn't roll my driver side window down all the way because cigarette ash would just blow all over me. Now I can cruise with my windows all the way down.
