After spending time in the waiting room (albeit with great company) for three weeks or so, I finally saw my new Chuck in the pr0n thread over the past weekend.

I got an Email notice that it has been handed over to USPS on February 24th, so braced for another wait for delivery.

But no. Surprise! It arrived today, the 27th, three days from Chicago to Oregon and my rapid-badger-vapin' lips.

For those who are speculating ... yes, it's everything they say it is.

For those still waiting, if it's any consolation, it is, indeed, worth the wait.

So .. who else has received their Chucks this week? Anyone else pleasantly surprised by the fast shipping?

I ordered 1/28, it was on pr0n 2/20, tracking number came 2/24 and it arrived 2/27 - so 30 days total.

Jeff does ALL of this himself - it's not like he's just ordering things from subcontractors. And Thag-built is a 'side-line' for him - he has his own business, does snow-plowing, sleeps an hour or two a day, and maybe even has some personal life. And as more and more people hear about the wonderful work he does, more and more people order. So the lead time has gone up.

There are lots of other mods that have longer lead times or are released prematurely with tons of quality problems. I've spent far too much money on them. Two of them work adequately for me, but I still prefer my Chucks - now four of them - and I'm resisting ordering any other mods now.

Jeff does great work, and I'm a very satisfied customer. Thanks again, Jeff!

Brava, Jeannie, well said. My beautiful Chuck was certainly worth waiting for. A handcrafted piece of art and a dependable workhorse all in one, it stands between me and the poisonous world of smoke I once inhabited. :D As soon as I can make up my mind on the design, I plan to order another and I'll gladly endure the wait again.

Heck, Afubar, I know where Umatilla is. I've driven the gorge highway several times.

I'm in Tualatin (which, for out-of-staters is near Oregon City and Portland).

Congrats to all those who have received their Chucks and for those patiently watching for the mailman. We're a lucky bunch o' Chuckleheads.
