Well, It's been over 24 hours since my last analog. I'm starting to think that I can totally make the switch for good. But to be honest, I think I'm still lacking something from my vape. I don't quite get my "fix". I still have a little craving for the real thing. I know analog cigarettes have all that extra nonsense in them, that is also addictive. So even though I'm getting my nicotine fix from the vape, I'm not getting that other junk in the analogs to completely satisfy my craving.

It could also be placebo I guess. I don't really know. I do know that without vaping, I would be dying right now from not having a cigarette in over 24hours. I usually can't go an hour without one. But I feel pretty OK right now. My nerves aren't shot, and I'm not totally craving my analogs. I just feel like I'm missing something. I just don't seem to get 100% satisfied after vaping. Could be the extra chemicals in analogs, or could just be my conscious being psyched out with the placebo effect. I may never know. But if I can go a little longer, and get over this hump, it will be smooth sailing from here on out.

And who knows.... maybe after a while of vaping, I can eventually take nicotine completely out of my diet. But to hell with that for now! I love my nic! I NEED my nic. .......**t, I'm gonna have me nic!

Vape on, bruthas and sistas!

Happy Holidays to all

Well, 24 hours is a day, and we can only take it a day at a time. Is your nic level in your juice high enough for you? Do you have a flavor you enjoy? Some members have used Swedish Snus to overcome the "hump" that you have hit. Also, be sure to drink that water. As always, come here for support. 24 hours might not seem like a lot, but it is a start. :)

Hello fellow St. Louisan! CONGRATULATIONS on one day! Hang in there - you can do it!! One day at a time, as they say. If you feel like something is missing, up your nic a bit or try a new flavor. And if you smoke an analog, don't beat yourself up - there are alot of people who vape and smoke, cutting down a little bit at a time. You just have to find your sweet spot and believe in yourself that you can do it, and you can - I am living proof. I smoked 1-1/2 to 2 packs a day for over 25 years. I have not had a cigarette in 163 days and have been vaping completely nicotine free for 151 days. It amazes me how many people - long time smokers - are able to make the switch. So, if there is one last thing I can stress its this - no matter what happens - DON'T GIVE UP! :)

Congrats Kind Head. I found for the first 1 1/2 months every time I'd sit at my desk at home I'd look for my ashtray, analogs and lighter. 3? weeks ago my wife asked me where the ashtrays were so she could wash them. Turns out it takes 6-12 months for the brain to deprogram itself from analogs completely. When I first started vaping it was at 36 mg and I could care less about much I was vaping. Now down to 20 mg and feeling fine. Remember drink lots of water and if sleep is a problem mix a separate batch of lower nic- credit goes to swedishfish for that tip. I now vape 10 mg in the evening. As Retriever has said- take it one day at a time and before you know it a few months will have gone by. From personal experience I can tell you it is well worth it. As for eventually getting off Nic completely I'm targeting the same goal as you.
Happy Vaping, Vapoor.

OMG CONGRATULATIONS! 24 hours is great! Your withdrawing from 4000 nasty chemicals as well as antidepressants and other feel good addictive drugs. Keep up with the water to flush your system, it took me about a week maybe a day or two more to get past this feeling. But it does pass :) Try to look at this quit differently, more of a change of brands than anything else. And remember to be kind to yourself, every smoke you skip is a success! Even if you have one keep on vaping!

I am using 30mg strength juices. It's the highest I could get from either of the vendors I've bought from so far. Do they make it any stronger than that? And I do enjoy the few flavors I have (555 & Turkish Tobacco). Didn't like the French Vanilla Coffee sample I got, but love the other two flavors.

Also I do think 24hours is a lot. It's actually a miracle that I've gone this long without an analog.

Thanks for the support!

Well done Kind Head! Your body and mind will go through many stages as you rid them of the other addictions associated with tobacco products. The companies that produce them have had 100 years to perfect their product and have done their homework. That along with getting used to all that is vaping is a huge challange for many of us. Continue on and good luck!

Yes it's a HUGE accomplishment. When I first quit wifey was amazed at how "nice" I was rather then the miserable old toot I was when using other cessation methods. This is prolly the best and biggest Christmas gift you could ever be giving to not only your Loved Ones but yourself and what's really nice about all this is at any time of the day or night we can come here to ECF for the greatest support ever.
Vape on my good friend and have a Safe and Happy Holiday.

30 mg should be ok but you can get up to 36 mg.

Kind keep that PV where ever you go and when you hit it take a nice slow deep inhale nice and slow and into your lungs.
Cant stress nice and slow hit enough and into your lungs it will help.
Just make sure its with you all the time and have an extra battery as well if your out and about.
Best to you.
Good luck.

You got a good point about taking a long slow drag. When smoking analog cigarettes, it affects you a little differently when taking slow deep drags compared to short quick drags. It has a completely different effect on how it affects your body's reaction. Slow deep drags relax you more than short quick drags. Short drags almost have an opposite effect.
