$42 for an MVP 2 with an iClear 16b. The MVP was totally worth it, the 16b was crap. Since then I've bought 5 istick 20w. The total price for those was just over $100. A few days ago I bought 2 KBoxes for $36.

I'd rather have a lot of inexpensive devices than a few expensive ones.

Amen, high-five! I'm going to get bored with what I have and want to buy new LONG before they wear out anyway! :D

Never understood this. Why have a bunch of the same mod, I could understand having a backup but still? And those more expensive mods are more powerful so that's why for some it's worth it. If they wanna vape at higher watts. Otherwise use a mech lol

Lets see...

$229 for Provari with extended cap
$179 Nemisis mod
$200 Chi U
$399 GG mod with Ithika
$200 Pair of Sig 150
$99 IPV2
$119 IPV3
$400 pair of SX Mini M series
$400 pair of OKR 120watt boxes

They were ALL worth it to keep me off the stinky sticks.
Why not just buy clones? Jw

Where does one get a 55 dollar provari?!
Probably in the classifieds. That's an extremely good price, as used Provari's typically retain their value over time.

Most I've paid for a mod was somewhere around $200 new. A colored standard size Provari 2.5 with blue LED display and battery extension cap. I liked it so much I got a Mini Provari about 6 months later to celebrate my 1 year vape anniversary.

So were they worth it to me? Yeah, the original is nearly 3 years old and works like new. Best purchases in my 3 years of vaping. I worked most of 2014 for a large vape shop and had the opportunity to experience a wide variety of mods, and nothing represented value more to me than my Provari's.

Why Provari?

I like the idea of a provari and the durability. But they just seem clunky and overpriced to me. I much prefer variable wattage. My next mod may likely be a Sigelei

I don't know about being "clunky". I carry mine in my front pants pocket when out and about. It's hefty in weight compared to some other mods, but that's the sacrifice you pay for stainless steel bodies if you want the durabilty of a Provari. Mine have hit the concrete multiple times and I never blinked.

One can purchase a new Provari for under $100 in the "Specials" section at Provape.

In case you didn't know, the new Provari P3 has variable wattage, and with the firmware upgrade can fire a 0.5 ohm atty.

Mini Provari 2.5

I have multiple mods of my favorites. Three Provari 2.5, two AltSmoke Silver Bullet mechanicals, and a Provari P3. At one time I was a mod collector. These represent excellent value to me, so I can justify them.

My son is using one of my Silver Bullets, my daughter is using my Mini Provari, and I'm about to loan one of my standard Provari 2.5 to my sister to try vaping for the first time.

The first iStick was $30, bought because I had heard good things about it.
The second was $18, bought because I wanted a backup for the first one that I liked.
The third was a "broken" one, bought off the Classifieds for $15. It was an easy fix.
The fourth and fifth were bought off the Classifieds for $40.25 with shipping. One was brand new, the other was lightly used. I just couldn't resist the price.

The KBoxes are in storage for the future. Insurance against upcoming FDA regulations. They will go up to 40 watts and will subohm down to .4 ohm.

I've never vaped over 12 watts so I currently have no need for more power than the KBoxes will output.

I have multiples of the ones I like best... 3 vv3's, 2 Sigelei Zmax's (one was a PIF), and 2 iStick 30w... but then I have singles of others; none of mine cost more than $40. The most powerful I have are the iStick 30w's, but I vape at 10w; I wanted the 30w rather than the 20w because the 20w won't step down. I'm about to get a CoolFire IV, 40w, but I want that one because it's a 15sec cutoff rather than 10sec.
