I feel kinda....dense for asking this but....

MVJ? "My Vapor juice"? I googled that and all I could find was a facebook page. Looks like a Malaysian vendor that sells USA made e-juice?

I can't even figure out how to place an order. And I'm not sure that I would. Ordering directly from a facebook page makes me uncomfortable. I could be completely wrong, of course, and if I am I'd welcome some schooling. :)

it's a typo. try myvapejuice.com

Enjoy :)

Edit - jeff beat me to it :)

There have been some entries that put GeJ Patriot in the "Best Cigarette" or "Best Cigar" category and I'm curious as to why. I don't really get much of a cigarette or cigar flavor from it -- it tastes like a pretty straight-forward pipe tobacco to me. I'm not trying to say anyone is wrong necessarily, I was just wondering what the cigarette-like or cigar-like qualities are that people are getting from it, or if there is a specific cigarette or cigar that it reminds them of.

A few people have mentioned that they wish the contest would run longer. I have no problem extending it. Does anyone else? Say, another month?

I may do a preliminary tally on Monday anyway just to get the first batch of votes counted. Otherwise this could get complicated.

I may need a mod to edit my first post in the thread with the new extended closing date.

I have mentioned this already in one of the threads, maybe in this one, I do not remember, but I just confirmed something I have noticed, i.e., as a general rule, the juice vapes how it smells. In other words, when you open a bottle and smell it, the predominant smell is what you are going to get when you vape it. Perhaps there are some exceptions, but thus far, I have not found any.

If there is no tobacco smell, I have yet to find a juice that has a tobacco flavor when I vape it. For example, Backwoodsbrew's Virginia, has been stepping for 7 days, as suggested on their site, does not have any tobacco smell. I just vaped it and no tobacco flavor at all.

Description from the site: "A classic - Backwoods Brew style. Clean, full tobacco flavor all day long. Home brewed taste with generous throat hit and clouds of vapor. Many point to this flavor as the one that got them off analogs for good with its rich, full-bodied tobacco taste."

Full tobacco flavor all day long? I do not think so.

I suspect Baco will be more or less the same, because it too has no tobacco smell, but according to the site, it needs 14 days to steep.

On the other hand, I just tried Want2Vape's Louisville and wow. Clear pipe tobacco smell and a very pleasant vape with an undeniable pipe tobacco flavor. London is also very nice. It has an even stronger smell, but the vape is "flatter" than Louisville. No difference between inhale and exhale, but it too has an undeniable pipe tobacco flavor, it is just simpler, which is not a bad thing, than Louisville.

Interestingly Want2Vape's Managua and Mountain Oak Vapors' Southern Gentleman have the same smell. The smell in both is exactly the same, Managua's smell is a little stronger, but the same. I cannot describe what it smells like, but I do not smell any tobacco. I will do a test vape soon.

Mountain Oak Vapors' Apache has a strong pipe tobacco smell similar to London and Louisville, so I expect it to be a great vape. I received Mountain Oak Vapors' sample today (nice glass bottles, by the way) and I am letting them seat for a day at room temperature before vaping.

So I think it makes sense. Why would a vape have a flavor that you cannot smell? If you cannot smell it, it is either not in there or it is so mild that it is barely detectable. I think it would be a lot easier to choose what you want to buy if description would simply mention the dominant flavor when you open a bottle and smell it instead of these elaborate descriptions that are often nowhere near close to reality.

Tez, it might not TASTE like a cigarette, but a lot of people have commented that it gives a similar sort of SATISFACTION as a cigarette. I think it does. Maybe that's a good enough reason to vote for it in that category, even though it is "officially" a pipe tobacco.

I feel the same curiousness about Dark Horse, which I called as Best Cigarette but others have voted for as Best Pipe or Best Cigar. For me it feeds the same neurological/chemical need that made me want a Camel. Others have obviously different opinions. :)

You might be onto something -- I've always wondered why certain Halo juices are classified as tobaccos (like Torque 56 and Freedom), when I don't really get any sort of tobacco flavor from them, but I do get strong throat hit and copious vapor. "Satisfaction" could well be why it's placed in that category. That's justifiable, but personally, I think taste has to be the primary criterion. I would say that Ahlusion's Caramel Pear Black Tea, for example, gives a similar sort of cigarette-like satisfaction, but I couldn't call it a cigarette.

Agreed on both fronts - I do think that this should be about taste first and feel/satisfaction/etc. second. With Patriot, like you, I get pipe tobacco. Even Nat Shermans or some of the "natural" cigarettes that have cigar tobacco or other bits added don't come close for me.

I'd love to hear if others get more cigarette tastes from it...

Truthfully, that description works as good as any. I still think it tastes like a chocolate chip cookie. Try eating one when you vape DF. I can't tell the difference.

This would allow me a chance to get my IGO-L built and running on my VAMO (which should be here tomorrow :)) to taste all of the juice I have gotten, plus a few more on the way to make a better vote. The down side to extending this contest is there will likely always be people like me who have just started really getting into NETs, so there will always be the "extend this" thoughts.....and Mann would have time to try and hack his votes to change them, which has already been stated as disqualifying. :D

THere's also nothing written that says this vote is a one time thing. it could be done at whatever intervals make sense as long as there is participation. I expect my tastes to change (I would likely change some of my votes as well just based on increasing the amount I have tasted).

From my side of things, the results of the vote are irrelevant - the primary thing was to have fun talking about hte NETs and to see some things I may want to try for the first time or to revisit. When I first started vaping, it almost didnt take because I had some bad juices as my first real liquid purchase. My second purchase was Halo and, while i think they do a great job at what they do (and I'm not blowing smoke here), there was still something missing for me. It was enough for me to stick with vaping despite struggling with it.

However, when I discovered NETs and the natural tobacco thread, it opened up a ton of other options that have become daily favorites for me. I've found vendors that I wouldn't have found otherwise... I've found flavors I wouldnt have found otherwise... and I now have a collection of juices that rival most outlet malls because of it. NETs and the people in the natural tobacco thread are the reason I'm still at it and why i keep a blog of tasting notes and keep trying everything I can get my hands on.

If the voting here has opened that door for one other person, then it has more than done its job :)

The other thing (for me anyway) is to increase exposure and get some other folks interested in trying them. The more people that vape NETs regularly, the more NETs we will have to choose from. It allows vendors to get creative with their extracts and flavors and pushes them to create something new.

That is the part that excites me the most.

Dont get me wrong, I still want to see the results... the results just arent the most important outcome for me.

It's just a matter of personal history. I've smoked a few cigars, and Patriot comes across as a cigar. While I have never smoked a pipe, but my grandfather and a few others have, and from the memories of those aromas were always of a sweet, smooth tobacco, which is what I get from Legend or Huntsman. But Patriot is strong, flavorful and... pungent like a cigar... to me.

I could see that. Yeah, I have yet to find a juice that really spot-on captures that classic nostalgic essence and smooth velvety room note that we tend to associate with pipes, but I think several vendors do nail the more gruff English and American pipe blends pretty well.

Tez another possible answer just occurred to me. Maybe people are going for the second-hand point of view: that is, not what a cigar or pipe tastes like but what it SMELLS like. There are a whole bunch of us who have never smoked a pipe or cigar before acquiring a sizeable collection of pipe and cigar juices, and not because we'd thought "I want a juice that tastes like smoking a Cohiba tastes like". I love the smell of pipe tobacco and pipe smoke but I have no firsthand experience of what they taste like as smoked.

Does that even make sense?:?:

BTW you got a package on its way to you.

That's a very solid point, and would probably go a long way in explaining the wonderful variety of NETs on the market and the difficulties involved in classifying them. We've discussed this before, but I feel that there are two general classes of NETs -- those that try to capture the authentic and specific experience, and those that go the interpretive or "re-inventive" route. I gravitate toward the first classification of juices, but both have certainly have their merits. I've suspected that a lot of the vendors who make interpretive NETs don't have a lot of firsthand combustible pipe and cigar experience, but that probably liberates them from adhering to a particular formula. We would never have had graham cracker tobacco if everybody stuck to the traditional! Or RY4 for that matter.

Also worth noting and perhaps related is the fact that many "cigarette" juices go for the freshly opened pack aroma, rather than the flavor of burning low-grade tobacco sweepings and paper. Makes sense to me.

Package, eh? I loved the last one you sent!

It has an ashy quality to me, which I suppose cigars and pipes would have too. It definitely tastes better than a cigarette though. It's simply the best cigarette replacement I have found and that makes it a life saver for me after a few beers. Anytime I have a newer (or experienced I suppose) vaper try it they have a remark about how much it tastes like a cigarette compared to their (synthetic) tobacco flavor.

I am still reading through the thread as I have not visited this thread for a while. Are these really Mann's votes? I am having a mild aneurysm reading through his favourites. Firstly, as someone who is a highly discerning NET lover I am surprised that half of his votes are non-Nets, and the fact that Patriot is his favourite non-net liquid makes me think this is all a bit of a lark ? :)

If DK-Tab is his favourite well I am delighted. I actually like Aromae-Juice's WTA DK-Tab and it's still one of my favourite vapes. Though I get the feeling two things will become clear - 1) this is a jestful vote and not his real vote and 2) I am just about to learn of this as I continue catching up with this Netty thread.

Dark side of the moon? Really? Isn't that the awful juice with the particles in it that tastes like methylated spirits soaked with bourbon?

This HAS to be a joke!

Hey everyone. Mann won't have internet service for the next few days so he called me to post this for him. I know they are not all NETs (or even ejuice) but he insisted that these are his favorites. Here's Mann's official, non-refundable NETty awards votes:

Best Natural Tobacco (overall)
DK-TAB- Dekang
Best Natural Tobacco (unsweet)
Best Damn Tobacco- Virgin Vapor
Best Natural Tobacco (sweet)
Dark Side of the Moon- Virgin Vapor
Best Natural Tobacco (fruity)
Georgia Gold- Virgin Vapor
Best Natural Tobacco (other flavor)
Thrilla in Vanilla- Virgin Vapor
Best Cigar
Captain Jack- Halo
Best Pipe
Boba's Clone- Catskill
Best Cigarette
Marlboro Ultra Light 100s menthol- Marlboro
Best Non-NET Tobacco
Patriot- GeJ

I repeat, these are MANN's official votes. He warned me someone may log-in to his account and prettend to be him, but he has NO internet access for three days.
