Last night on our local news there was a sizeable segment on "e-cigarettes". When we saw the teaser we thought "oh boy..here it comes! Another bashing!" To our surprise it was completely the opposite. The news team interviewed the owner of a local shop here and interviewed a former smoker who now vapes. They quoted a whole lot of statistics about how much the e-cig industry has grown, especially since around 2008, and the big money involved. They also seemed to tactically encourage people who want to quit smoking to try e-cigs (comments by the talking heads after the story). Of course overall the stance was to was to simply quit altogether.
Last year this time it was the complete opposite. News stories from "doctors" who were pontificating about how e-cigs could be "dangerous". Then the big story about the clown who blew his tongue out in FL. What a mess. Seemed like the media was totally down on vaping. It was "evil incarnate" to them.
What a difference a year makes! And $$$$$
