Yip, Visions screwed up big time on the first release of the product. Needless to say I am losing faith in their products. However, I will keep giving them the benefit of the doubt as I do believe that they are on the right track with this product line. They seem to have reacted very quickly to the negative reviews about Vivi V1. I hate using cartos with filler, so I have to rely on the Ce2 from Royal Smokers (MicroCig) and the Vision line. I tried the Smoktech DCT, nice idea but filler in the carto.
I will give them credit, the Vision extreme series are pretty good and the Grande is okay. I like the Stone tank but I just can't get past the gurgling issue with these units.
I think the main problem with Vivi V1 is lack of required air flow. They did acknowledge that this was one of the problems in V1 and is supposedly addressed in V2.
I did a test when I first got Vivi V1 where I raised up the coil and mounted it within the holding chamber using the silicon gasket from a Stardust. Couple of problems doing this .... 1) can't fully fill up the tank with liquid and 2) added more resistance to the coil. It did make a significant improvement in TH, vapor and flavour. So, without question the problem with Vivi V1 is airflow.
If we have to start adding non (zero) resistance wire to the nichrome to make these units work it will not be worth the hassle and defeats the purpose. Adding the zero resistance wire means soldering ... RPITA. I guess I will find out Monday if the another $17.00 dropped on the Vivi is worth it.
