I work with silicone and neoprene hose used in things like pneumatic controls and samplers quite a bit. (Chief engineer in a water treatment facility)

A very slight tear or a small area of a bad seal can be and is usually the culprit in terms of leakage although a loose connection is a case of a leak for sure. A trick to applying hose is to dampen the nipple or hose a wee bit before assembly to get a good seal. One would assume that squonking places a lot of pressure on the seal.

Will finish off the last of the home slice I have in my bottle and disassemble/reapply.

It is upright. I'll have to check this evening when I get home from work.

There was a little juice on the inside of the body, but mostly on the bottle side, only a little on the battery side.

I don't believe there is juice on the battery contact as there is no juice on the battery at all. I'll double check it all when I get home.

Just took a peek at my Reo. The hose extends up into the contact housing past the portion of the exposed nipple. I suspect a bad seal is your culprit. If the end cut of the tube has any imperfections at all, trim just enough to get a perfectly straight cut with razor blade.

I'm going to agree with Distro here, if there isn't any on the contact I don't think it's the connector.

I'll have to check that out. should I open the contact housing to make sure it's flush?

I can always check out YouTube to see how to tighten the connection piece and while doing so adjust the tubing.

Hmm, I think I would try the tube repair first. Not that the disassembly is all that complicated but, why do it when there is a possibility that it is not necessary. As a very wise man once told me, troubleshooting is merely a process of elimination.

But doesn't the tubing extend into the housing. I can try taking a look at it, but I think, if anything, I may need to push the tubing up more. The point of disassembly is to ensure there is no excess juice... want it to be clean again!

Here's another tip. After removing the tube and when ready for making the re-connection, run the end of the tube under hot tap water long enough to soften it up, then push the tube over the nipple until it will not slide up any further. Do this while slightly rotating the tube at the same time.

Will do. thanks for the tips. Can't wait to get home, clean it all up and use my brand new cyclone. Afc top due to arrive Friday. Now that I'm thinking about it, the bottle does seem to be hanging ever so slightly lower than day one.

Congrats on the AFC top cap! You are going to love it.

I spent 60 for the top cap (came with a base, likely the top feeder base), so for the cyclone setup I spent like 145... oy. The reo was already 2.5 times the most expensive device I owned prior, add this and it is about 4 times previous. That said, I think it'll totally be worth it. I'll be done spending on devices for a little while.

You will LOVE it. I'm obsessed with it and may start bringing it to work instead of my VV V3 despite the large size.

I hate to say it, but it sounds like you may be heading towards getting a back-up . . .

I know I'll get one more. Waiting for the notification that the lp black anodized is back in stock. Then I'm swapping doors between my black and white to have the contrast... especially with 6 months 0% interest with Bill me later.

But I will NOT spend another $145 for cyclone + cyclone afc. I'll use the RM2 that I'm thoroughly enjoying.

I'm assuming you are leaving is standing straight up. Take a flash light and with the battery out shine it into the hole where the contact comes down. Can you see any juice on the contact (or in the silicone sleeve) or on the inside of the body?

There is juice in the silicone sleeve.
