The top feed base is thinner than the bottom feed base from the looks of it, the afc top you have is meant for a bf, so all bf should fit.

Wow that stinks. I just assumed they would be the same size. Sorry. It is not the easiest rda to mod, but it is still not all that tough with some basic tools. There are a few threads on it if you want to give it a shot.

Well, one more option is to visit a local machine shop and have them hone it out a bit for you. I would imagine they would do it for a minimal fee. If you were closer I could do it for you myself.

2 questions for the reonaughts:

1. Does the Igo bf on Robs site fit the standard or LP reo (or both)? I have the lp mini 2.1.

2. What do you think are the best batteries for the mini 2.1 and why?
Feel free to mention your preferred place to purchase them.

p.s. The reo has been killing it! At work, working in the garden, even riding my bike, i'm blowing clouds with no fuss. Noone mentioned that my juice consumption would double, but i'm not complaining.

I'm running parallel .8 coils with 28g wire and cotton in the rm2 and I think I have it just where I like it. Im finally completely satisfied with my device... Now what the heck am I supposed to do with myself? And don't say buy another one, because I contemplate it regularly.

Thanks in advance for your .02

As far as batteries for the mini, I can't really advise. I have 2 lp grands. All atomizers fit the lp. I don't believe the igo is milled so not sure that it will fit anything but the lp.

Parallel coils are some of my favorites. My helios loves them down to 0.2 ohm.

I ordered my 2nd within a week of receiving my first one.

The bf igo-s will fit both regular and lp reo's. I have a mini, a grand, and a lp grand - it fits them all.

I haven't found anything but the aw imr 18490's from RTD for the mini. I'd also be interested in what else is out there.

Glad to hear your reo is working out for you. :D

Thank you all for your .02 so far.

Im going to try out the igo because I want to reduce the size of my setup as much as possible, its in my pocket all day. Im really down with the ceramic deck on the rm2 tho.

More battery talk:

Reosmods.com very clearly states that one must use protected batteries for his mechanical devices. I took what I thought was the responsible approach and ordered 2 of these:
http://www.rtdvapor.com/efest-protected-18500-1500mah/

Today I stopped at my local b&m (a well trusted place with friendly expert service) to talk about batteries for my mini 2.1.
My helpful vapor wizard at the b&m helped me to understand that the amp limit on the protected batteries is approx. 5! With the .75 coil im running, im pulling about 5 amps. No one can explain to me why protected batteries would be reccomended for this mechanical mod. I have read a lot about batteries and I understand that "safe" in reference to protected batteries means they wont literally explode when misused. I also understand that unprotected batteries wont explode if you dont excede the amp limit or hard short them. And it seems these unprotected batteries have a very high amp limit that is unlikely to be exceded under reasonable resistance. So I ended up with new efest (purple) unprotected 1000 mah batteries with a 15 amp limit. The 2 protected batteries cost me 20 bucks that would have bought 3 of the unprotected. I still can't figure out why we are being told to get protected stuff. Can anyone offer some insight? Am I going to melt my face off?(jk)

On a side note the purple efests match the juice theme going on in the squonk bottle...

I think the protected batteries were for the VV Reos. I use regular IMR High Drain in my mini.

Edit: Yep, I just went to the website and he states IMR, then size, for each current model. It's at the top, on the home page when you first get to the site.

2nd Edit: Looked again... at the user manual this time. I saw where you saw unprotected, but it says "do not use unprotected Li-on batteries" & "use only protected or safe chemistry batteries". The IMRs that he recommends are considered 'safe chemistry' batteries. They are not pure Li-on. In the next section is where the AW IMRs are recommended.

Wow. So just to test it out (while risking a $43 rm2 lp) I decided to drill a 2nd 2mm hole opposite of the original hole that I widened. I personally love wide open air flow. I find I get better vapor and flavor. I wasn't sure how it would work or if I had to order another one since I messed up. Turns out, no mess up at all. I now live it almost as much as my cyclone. I may bore or the wire holes a little to allow for dual parallel coils and really get some crazy vapor. But, I may need more drill bits. Don't want to make them too big and mess with the structural integrity of the posts.

I am in reo heaven with both devices rocking. I even used the repair kit and, fingers crossed, may have fixed the issue on reo 1 where it was leaking a little bit. Time will tell there.
Also just got my VA Chaplin drip tip clones.

I am looking into a reo mini with reomizer but keep reading about having to drill the hole out in the reomizer...am a total girl these days and have no drill etc. lol ugh is there a good bf RDA with AFC that doesnt double the cost of this thing?

Unfortunately, not that I've found the RM2 really works well, my regular drippers are drilled out but I've been happy with the REO vape my SO likes it to and all of hid drippers have AFC. IMO try it the way it comes first

My thought is to try before you make
any changes as well. I liked it before at stock. I really liked it with 1 widened hole (so easy a pin vise and drill bit would do the trick--a $7-$10 investment). I'm now fully in love with it after drilling out the 2nd hole.

I had it and was a huge fan of it for over 2 weeks before I made the decision to open a 2nd hole.

The brass cap is really really soft that you can drill it out by hand if needed. You can also use a fine jewelers file to manually enlarge the hole.

Yup, sort soft. Had no difficulty making the 2nd hole at all. But I may have to enlarge the wire holes in each the posts. Need to get a bit of smaller diameter so I can only slightly enlarge it. also very soft posts.

My first attempt at a parallel coil in the RM2. Came in at 0.54 ohms 7 wraps of 28 gauge around a 2mm screwdriver. Wicked with 2mm ReadyXwick. Yummy taste with the Wakonda and cloud city! I haven't been chain vaping it, too worried about the spring getting hot. Should I be?

Looks nice. I really want to build dual parallel coils for the rm2, but space could turn out to be an issue for the 2nd one.

I usually do the vape, vape, squonk. Repeat. I will chain vape without issue.

I run duels sub 0.40 so assuming you have the new contacts/button you should be fine.

On a stock RM2 I can get twisted 28g in no problem. Timbuck I think is running parallel 28g without a problem either. Give it a shot :D
