From what I am seeing, there is a bit more room in the VV Woody than there is in the metal VV.

The electronics in Robs VW's sit above the battery.

So, you have 3 options, put the chip on the bottom and raise the battery or embed the chip externally or shift everything to the right and mount the dna along the left wall. Turbo did one of each I guess...

My issue is not having enough skill with wood and destroying the mod in the process!

Put it in the bottom. Although I personally would fashion something to isolate the juice bottle so no leaking worries. Something like a plastic battery tray with the top cut out to allow room for the tube.

Yeah, turbo used sealant to solve that problem. Not pretty, but it worked.

The only bad thing about Turbo's method is if that board needs changed... it won't be easy.

Yep and my OCD says to use a treated wood veneer base above the board...
