I found the 18490 Woodvil to be super light in comparison to the metal Mini 2.1 and Grand. I don't have experience with the Woodvil Grand though..

I might take a look at the mini. Thanks Megan, the pictures really put things in perspective for me! The istick fits me perfectly and since I plan to use the REO only at home the battery life on the mini would be ok! I had a REO mini before that I bought on the classies but according to the person I sold it to, there was something not quite right with it! I really want to give the REO another go!
If there was something "not quite right" with it, you could have gotten it fixed for a fairly inexpensive price. For Future Reference, the things are almost completely rebuildable/fixable.
The used REO I got, which convinced me that I didn't like REOs, was probably a really easy fix! I just didn't know enough about REOs at the time! If I had known how to give it a good cleaning, bought unused batteries and not smashed the heck out of the fire button,I probably would still have it! I know so much more now! But someone did mention in another thread that it might be best to buy new. My problem is that I over think things and by the time I decide to move on one in the classies, it's gone! Maybe new is the way I need to go! See, I'm probably over thinking this again! I really need to get some help with my commitment issues!!!
many will disagree with me kitty my friend but I strongly advise against buying REOs from the classys, unless you know who's selling it and have a really good feeling about it. New REOs aren't much more dinero than used and worth the extra to know your mod is in perfect condition; new batteries are essential IMO. I thought you just didn't dig the bottomfed paradigm - if you were getting subpar performance out of your mod, but enjoyed the bottomfed paradigm, by all means time to buy a new REO m8
edit - to be fair and avoid getting flamed, I acknowledge used REOs are fine to buy, but along with that a repair kit should be purchased just in case it's needed. IMO used batteries should never be used...I don't play with fire
(but my partner eats it...) but even used batteries should be fine with proper cleaning and maintenance

I agree with Sloth, though I bought my Reo from the classies. I had a real good feeling from the fellow and that proved to be right. He wanted a new LP in a different style and was selling his Reo of only a few months old to fund this (it was right after the LP Reos came out...) and he sent a lot of extras with it. No batteries which was nice because I'd rather have my batteries so I know how long they have been used and how carefully.
Though if you find a blem on Rob's site that equals the price you could get from the classies....

I think many do agree with you! I can think of maybe five members that I would buy a used one from and have 100% confidence! I have had my eye on the black wrinkle with the copper door! Back and forth on a LP mini vs Grand. And now they throw all the new Woodvils coming out! I'm not sure I want to participate in the Woodvil frenzy sale, but you never know! I don't know much about the Woodvils. Can anyone explain the difference in the last run batch and what people are discribing as the upcoming MECH Woodvils?

The old Woodvil uses an electronic button with wires coming out of the back. Your build on the atty is limited to the amperage that the button and wiring is rated for. The new "mech" Woodvils are using a similar leaf spring type of firing mechanism where the make/break contact is truly mechanical, similar to the metal Reos except that obviously the body of the Woodvil does not act as battery negative.
Both of my Mini LPs were bought/traded for used. I had excellent experiences with both. They now both belong to coworkers who love them, and I have two Grand LP/SLs that I bought new. The only thing I would caution against when buying a used Reo is that if it has the old 510 and the sub ohm kit was user-installed, be prepared to send it to Rob at some point. In my experience, most user-installed SO kits end up leaking from behind the delrin block at some point. One of my Minis did this and I sent it in to Rob for the 510 upgrade. My other Mini came from Rob as a SO Reo and I never had any problems with it.
Thanks SpeedyDave! I absolutely get it now! IF I decide to get a Woodvil I would want this new mech model. It seems like there would be less to ever go wrong. And great advice on sending a used one to Rob for a spa day! Wish I had done that with the used one I got because I really liked the look and feel of the mini.

Better battery life, more juice capacity. Now some will insist a mini is the way to go if you swap juices a lot. Not to be offensive to those who bring that up but it's simply not true at all. The capacity is irrelevant; swapping juices is as easy as swapping bottles, maybe blow through the feed tube to clear the old juice out.
I only bring that up because some people have bought minis because they believed it was easier to swap juices due to less capacity. This ain't a tank folks. Bottles are 65 cents get one for each flavor and you're golden, mini or grand

I keep looking at the pictures he has up and I think they are beautiful! Especially one that has a faint outline of Kokopelli! Or maybe it's my love of Kokopelli that makes my brain see him in the wood! Either way they are beautiful. But budget right now says I can only have one! LP Grand, Woodvil or LP mini? Too many decisions! Gotta vape more!
You know FWIW and the fun of it, here are my detailed thoughts on this:
OVERALL - REO Mods: your choice of mini, grand or woodville is a great choice - period. Either of these will serve you for years if not the rest of your life. Broken down...
LP vs non-LP: LP is the obvious choice and looks like you're decided on that aspect anyway. LP = can use any bottomfed atty, regardless of size. A non-LP has no advantages over an LP, other than a prettier look if you use cartos.
Mini - great for people with arthritis, or some other condition (like the one I fear but can't think of the name...carpel tunnel or something? I fear it cause I'm a bassist and type on a keyboard for work all day). No other known advantages unless you prefer the smallest REO possible. Like a Grand, can be washed in the sink and kept completely sanitary. Virtually indestructible. REOs have been run over by cars, picked up, vaped. Not joking. (don't try this at home LOL)
Grand - small, first thing I want to say is small. It is only grand in comparison to a mini. This fits comfortably in my hands, and is practically concealed by my hand. It's ~the size of a credit card, but thicker of course. More juice capacity than a mini--double in fact. Much better battery life as it uses 18650 batteries (I run AW 2200mah batteries, they lasted me a full day plus some at 1 ohmish, much less at .4 but still good battery life). Just as easy to swap juices as any other REO. Like a mini, can be washed in the sink. BTW I have videos of me throwing my REOs on the ground did I mention they're virtually indestructible?
Woodvil - don't own one yet. The downside is obviously that it is more delicate than a metal REO. It cannot be washed in the sink, water is not its friend. More maintenance, precautions and care are merited with a wood mod. But the beauty and uniqueness is a whole other level.
Were I in your position, I'd have an easy go of it: LP Grand. Will last you a lifetime with a little maintenance. You can take it anywhere with you and not worry about it getting beat up or dirty or juice on it. A Woodvil is great but I personally wouldn't want my only REO to be wood - I want wood to keep at home and relax with in the evenings, but that's just me and so is all of this, I'm just trying to help and offer my 7 months in perspective on what these heaven mods are all about
To sum it up: I understand being indecisive, I'm indecisive myself. Bottom line you can't go wrong with any of these three choices. A REO is a REO is a heavely holy creation of porky dust. Think about what little differences there are and ask yourself what fits your vaping style best

I went with Minis first because I was using nothing but 18490 mechs at the time. I've since switched to 18650s, and the extra juice capacity is a plus as well. I used to have to switch bottles at lunch on work days, but now I can go a full work day on one bottle.
With 3 Grands and Dibi I'm running out of ADVs to put in them
Really? My coworkers think I'm crazy because I have two Reos, but I want a third (plus a mech Woody and a Dibi). That *might* be enough.
