I am in So Cal if you want to split an order for shipping haha.

Cali MMV Co-Op?, LOL

I would actually be down if I needed, yeah I'm down :D

Remember needing a D20 top insulator, ended up getting all 350 tubes + all satin shirts + glass + Poldi contacts, ect.

You would prob need at least 25 members to get shipping down to ~ 7 bucks.

I've got a couple of Provaris but I've decided that I'm going to buy myself my first mechanical as a birthday present to myself. One of the local stores in my area has the Empire but after researching and reading through this forum I've decided that I want a Poldiac. I've got a couple of questions though and was hoping someone here could help.

I'm debating between the Aname and the Cloud Wizard. If someone has both, could you post a picture of the two side by side? There are tons of pictures here but many of them don't specify which style they are.

Also, in regards to batteries - I use AW IMR batteries with my Provari. Could I also use the AW IMR with the Poldiac?

The "Poldiac" | mmvapors.com

If you click on each Poldiac it will give a description of what style they are.
MMVapors recommends the use of AW IMR in the Poldiac.

and remember your order number from MMVapors will be your life-long lottery ticket on their own forum! :D

Thanks for the info Miriam! I guess I just need to pick one of the two and go with it. If I like the Poldiac as much as I anticipate I will, I'll end up buying another at some point anyway. Might be a while though - my first grandchild is on the way and my vape budget is likely to be cut once my wife starts baby shopping. LOL

Outside of the Poldiac and batteries, are there other recommended accessories that I should pick up with my initial purchase?

Also, can you elaborate on your lottery ticket comment? Sorry, I'm not familiar with that yet.

Every so often MMVapors will hold a lottery, sometimes for stock MMV products other times for a rare prototype. These lotteries are held on the MMV forum and the entry for them are your order numbers from MMVapors.

So anyone running their bottom button contact in top button mode, as suggested by Mr. Heals?

I was kinda of interested as I have heard Poldi's "hit even harder", if thats possible lol, in bottom button mode. But after a bit of fiddling I was still getting gap between switch housing and top cap... So I just kinda forgot about it.

I had the same experience and I didn't like the gap. I'm not sure why he thinks it's more conductive. I would think that if anything it introduces additional contact points and would potentially be less conductive.

If I purchased a Poldiac from Local Vape in Southern California. (I have purchased two DIDs and a Gemini from Jim directly) do I still get a lifelong entry into the lottery?

Only if you have MMVapors order numbers. So not for the Poldiac that you bought from an unauthorised reseller (so you basically bought a 2nd hand one :p )

Are there any authorized resellers in Ca? This may be just gossip but I've heard that everything hitting BM's goes through Rick.

I have plenty of MMV order numbers but I did get my Poldi set from a local shop as well. Was actually just a tad cheaper than going directly to Jim, but I think that's on a shop by shop basis.

Good, so I'm not crazy then, lol. No offense to Mr. Heals or UMA but I think I'll just run mine the way it was designed :). Dig the part where he stresses cleaning and Noaloxing tho

haha, no offense taken.
I haven't replaced the magnets with the spring, & don't know how well it works or doesn't. BUT, it is a handy trick to have on hand if you are one of those users who is having the hit and miss firings. (it would certainly help in problem solving, eliminating partial equations).

Very nice JPBowden.

I plan on having another one make the Greece/Texas trip here pretty soon. 3 days is pretty impressive also considering it can take that long to send something from one side of Texas to the other with USPS.

I tried a 'co-op' once, didn't really work. Everyone said they were down but as soon as the new MMV website was up they all placed orders.

ehhhh I've kinda come to except the 19 euro shipping. I mean if you need something small it can be frustrating, just add a DID to the cart...:D

2nd question, is there a thread for the Gemini from MM Vapors? I can't seem to find it. I ordered one months ago that I just went to use for the first time two days ago and the airhold on the top cap doesn't match up anywhere close to the wick. I need to know what I should do to fix/exchange or whatever. Any help would be appreciated. I am sorry if this is the wrong thread for this. (This was a last resort)
