I was in my local vape shop the other day, and they sell the Poldiac 18490/500 version for $225.00. I really liked it, and it was great to be able to see and touch it. The price I don't believe is that far off. I'm not certain I'm gonna get one yet, but sure am thinking about it. I would probably prefer a 18350 version tho. I see mentioned above, that is a complicated device, how so? Thanks.

It's just complicated in that it has a lot more parts than most mechanicals. It has a shirt and pants - outside sleeves for cosmetics only, it has a comparatively complex button, which is convertible to a bottom-side button. For normal use, it's no more complicated than the others. Adjusting for the atomizer positive pin and battery slop are easy, even easier than some thanks to reverse threading of adjusting screws. The button is near perfect in terms of smoothness and reliability.

I just noticed something that, in the end, made my Uma even more perfect. The button had been recessed a bit, making it below flush with the shirt. I had seen it being flush in photos of others' Poldi's, and I just figured mine was a little off. So, I finally decided to take it apart to have a look. After loosening both screws at each end the button popped out, perfectly flush. I think whoever assembled it did so with the button in the locked position, and that caused it to stay back a bit. It worked perfectly before and after. Anyway, now it looks even more gorgeous :p

Edit: Well, I wasn't all the way out of the woods yet. The button stuck again, slightly recessed as before. hmmm so it wasn't someone tightening the screws while the button was depressed in the locked position. What, then? After a fair amount of fiddling - sliding the side screw/pin back and forth in the slot, while disassembled, I found that it would catch if the silver pin was installed, but not if it was out. But why? Finally, on a really close inspection I noticed something irregular at the bottom of the slot, next to the silver pin hole. Using a paperclip end, I slid it along the bottom of the slot and out popped a small bit of metal shaving. Now it looks smooth and regular on both sides, so I reassemble the button and now it really is perfect. no really.. perfect :)

It's actually testimony about how precisely it's made. Just that little bit of metal caused it to hang up. There are minimal clearances, which is a very good thing. It's totally an honest oversight to miss the shaving. Seriously.. it was small and nearly invisible. This mod is definitely top quality. I don't think you'll find a better made one anywhere.

interesting. I think someone is slacking off over there lol.

when i got mine i took it out of the little bag, pressed the button and it stuck. kinda played with it and got bummed out as I heard so much about the poldi I couldnt believe it, trying to use it it would stick once in a while so I took the head and tubes off and found the contact pins were loose, screwed them out a little, pressed the button in half way and tightened them down real good, suddenly the button is like silk, and got soooo happy.

finding this in a couple mods and atty's lately so now i think its always a good idea to double check everything when a new device shows up

An old Poldi arrived today in the mail. SN 181 - needed a full clean out but it hits well now. Got all the size tubes as well but i think i prefer it in 18350. Had to swap over from the spring to the magnets as the spring was just not comfortable. Its not in pristine condition or anything but certainly has held strong and looks good.

Madness I tell ya, pure madness.

It's a work of art as much as it is a functional device. simply beautiful craftsmanship from this guy.
Thats such a great combo, my favorite in fact out of all the DiD's. (besides the HyDid of course).

Congrats to all the new owners of the Poldiacs!!

Absolutely stunning. Those things have to be the most beautiful mods made. I finally sucked it up and pulled the trigger. My new Belial will arrive on friday, just in time for the long weekend. Can't wait to get my hands on it.

So, I've had my Poldiac for about 2.5 months and have never cleaned out the button.

I've had the same wick and coil on my DID for about 2 months and the other day began to notice a decrease in performance, so I twisted up a new wick and coil....no change.

Decided I must need to clean the Poldy. I broke it down and cleaned all the threads, this helped a bit but still not getting the performance I was.

I've been leary of taking the button apart because it seemed so complicated...well, I decided to dig into it - MUCH easier than I anticipated! :)

I didn't even have to take the button housing out of the casing. All I did was remove the contact screws which allows the button to slide right out. The silver contact pin inside the button had some pretty good black marks at the contact points, wiped right off with some alcohol. I cleaned the rest of the silver screws and re-assembled - ahhhh....performing better than ever!

Lesson here is not to be scared of taking that button apart to get your performance back, it's easier than you think!

for all the people who may not know the details or havent seen it. there is a video on the poldiac page showing a complete breakdown and rebuild of the poldi head and how to swap from top to bottom button as well.

Just ordered the full satin 18500 poldiac with 18650 tube and pants and satin slotted shirt. I'm so jazzed. I have a bunch of devices but I'm most excited about this one. I love my SS-IM roller but I think my Poldi is going to replace it. A+ for quick service. Ordered last night, shows packaged and ready to ship. Wow! I'll post pics once I have her home.
