It's making almost too much vapor on my poldiac. Lol. Taste is excellent.

What kind of wick is that?!? I've never seen one like this before!

It's a 3/32 7x7 stainless steel cable with a 3mm ekowool piece slipped over the cable. Then I wrap the kanthal which there is no hot spots if done this way. The cable wicks like mad and you don't have to do the genny tilt for the mesh crap to wick.

Congrats to all with their new Poldiacs and Genny's!!!

I just watched it. He makes a mean micro coil! Will that be viable to do on the standard DID or is the whole too big for it?

So I pulled the trigger late last night and got you, Uma! The 18650 was sold out so I had to unfortunately settle for your smaller sister, the 18500. Also ordered the standard DID (polished), with pyrex and brass contacts for it.

Turns out I pulled the trigger a bit quick as the 18650 option was again available just a few hours later today when I woke up.

I didn't think it would be a big deal since I wanted to try something a bit smaller than the 18650 but then again the difference between the two options is only 15 mm. Considering the drop in battery life I personally don't think the very slightly smaller size factor justifies it but I guess we'll see. As of right now, I can't order the 18650 sleeve and pants for the UMA (they only have it in polished SS).
The 18500 is a very comfortable size, in fact, my favorite. I'm sure you won't be too disappointed once its in hand. :)
Plus, MMVAPORS is great about restocking. We can own the world I tells ya, the world. ;)

That's a nice setup! I haven't tried echo wool yet, just the mesh topper on the SS cable rope, and its quite dreamy. One of these days I'll splurge on some echo wool.

Is that the kayfun Lite in the picture with this wick? Do you think it would work on the standard DID?
About the cable wick... did you make it or is it purchased? Not having to do the genny tilt would be awesome! How does this cable wick with the ekowool compare in taste and vapor production versus the SS mesh coil?

Definitely not the kayfun Lite. It's a genesis style atomiser, as is the Standard DID. So, yes, it will work with the Standard DID.

No it's a RSST. Never had a DID but I'm sure it will work if its a genesis.

looks like the Xl2? just got one in and this is one cool dripper.
Yes, it's the XL2. The atty looks great but needs modified to be right. The insulators on the center post are too soft, allowing it to be pushed up. I kept having to adjust center pin on the Poldi. Also the square piece that swings, the corners can touch the negative post when at 45 degrees causing a dead short. I used some orings from an Ody to make it more solid and put a radius on the corners of the swing bar so it can't reach the other post. I've had mine for a while, it's perfect now but out of the box it was kinda sketchy. I don't know if they've done any revisions since I got mine. If not, they really should. A dead short can cause bad things to happen.

Congrats. You'll love it.

Thanks Zero,
I have been saving and waiting for availability for over a month. I am looking forward to it.
I always do my research before I make a major purchase. This Mod gets thumbs up 99.9% of the time. As well as the manufacture.
That is a win win in my book.

We are a lot alike. But usually when something I have researched for days/weeks/months and got awesome reviews and I finally receive it.... I'm always like "this is cool but not like all the reviews say." Basically I'm never satisfied and want the next best thing. Well I have to say I'm pretty sure I'm 100% in love with my Poldiac. It's a near flawless design, with first class customer care. Thanks MM.

Got my Poldiac UMA today!!! :):vapor:

Super fast delivery! Placed the order in the early morning hours Monday, got it delivered by UPS Friday afternoon. It took a while to leave their warehouse but once it was shipped out, travel time was 2 days.

Setup time was umm... well I got lost and noticed hours later after building two wicks and messing around with the coils before finding what works and what doesn't. I regret not ordering the 28g Kenthal from them because the supplied 32g is not so friendly towards sub ohm resistance. At least not for my beginner level Genesis experience. After many, many tries of wrapping the coil by hand, I gave in and used the Petar K method and it worked right away. I ended up with a 1.2 Ohm coil and will leave it be until my 28g Kenthal comes in on Monday.

The standard DID is a major pain to unscrew once you have it on the Poldiac. The only way it comes off now is with the top cover of the button assembly. One little pet peeve is that no matter how I screw the DID atty in, the Poldiac's fire button lines up on the other side of the DID's air hole. So this results in me having to use my index finger to press the button since I have to keep the air hole and wick facing towards me. Is this the case with anybody else?

I have to say that I'm really pleased with the vapor production and taste but that's coming from somebody who's used to bottom feed tanks (Protank) and 0 Genesis experience.

Will take some pictures and post in the coming days.
