Damn it!!!!! I just received my order from MMV and it turns out that I ordered just the pants and not the matching tubes!!!! I guess that's what happens when you get too excited and not think everything through before paying $26 for shipping. Is there anything else I need before placing my next order for battery tubes? FYI......I'm getting a Cali Edition, so I don't think I need any internal parts, i.e. button, contacts, ect....

Hey guys. I just got my dream mod, a poldiac aname v2. The fun stopped the second I got home.

It was literally the filthiest mod I've ever even looked at. Just covered in oil and between the shirt and top section of tube there was dirt just caked all in there. So bad you couldn't rotate the shirt. I threw it in the ultrasonic except the switch. While investigating the switch, there are marks all over the top that almost look like heat scores or rust (doubt its rust). I threw the switch in too and nasty stuff oozed out of it for more than 15 minutes.

I haven't had a chance to scrub it really really well where the marks are to see what's going on with them but am I the only one to ever experience this?

This is by far my biggest vape purchase ever and it came worse off than a fasttech nemmy... I just don't want to be disappointed, this is seriously my dream mod. I've been talking about it for over a year. Thanks guys

That's odd. I have 2 Poldiacs, 2 DIDs, and have ordered several times from MM. Every order has arrived in flawless condition.

Mine came polished to a beautiful luster. I am a little OCD with my mods. I do a vdrop test out of the mail before I vape on it. I then polish and clean the entire mod/contacts/springs. Then do another vdrop test and vape. The Poldiac was one of the cleanest mods I have recieved. I had no residue on the polishing cloth after my ritual and no gunk came out of any piece. Vdrop was the same before and after.

Was it wrapped in MM shipping protection tape and lovingly held in an MDF shipping cradle with the mod inside a drawstring felt pouch?

I ordered straight from mmvapors and mine was very dirty as well. I was a bit disappointed also but after cleaning, all is well. Delivery day went like: :D    :vapor: :) I'm happy now, but it would have been nice to not have to scrub it all down prior to enjoying it. Just my :2c:.

Addit: Just want to add that the exterior of all items purchase were clean and polished beautifully. It was the insides of the Gemini, Temon, and Poldiac that were dirty. Assuming machine oil or polishing compound. Really hope this doesn't tarnish MMMVapors reputation in any way. Obviously I'm good; I just bought a TNS and some fancy clothes for my poldiac. :)

Just wanted to follow up here. I got it through a shop here in AZ. She got it from the US distributor MM directed her to. I know the shop owner well and she would've done nothing more than pull it out to take a picture. That's why she didn't know it was dirty because the VAST majority of the ugliness was between the shirt and switch. I got it in the velvet pouch with the MM card in there.

It'd be nice to be able to deal with MM but unfortunately to make it right, it would just be too much of a pain to have to go through 3 sets of hands and then back through 3 sets of hands. So I'll just keep it and be a little disappointed. It's still a poldiac after all.

Been thinking about the rhodium plated contacts lately. I get the advantage of not tarnishing the way silver does but wouldn't rhodium be less conductive than silver? If one wanted the best conductivity wouldn't silver plated brass contacts still be the way to go?

eJohn,

I can only comment on my experience but the V2 seems to hit just slightly harder than V1 (I'm talking about full sliver contacts and hot spring vs. full rhodium and neg pole). When I'm saying "seems" I mean a simple inline cartometer and the ol' lung-o-meter.

Now, you can get V1 contacts to hit harder than a setup with full rhodium but you will have to: clean all (yes all) the threads on the mod with a brush (toothbrush, ect.) and a de-greaser (small drop of dish soap), clean all the contacts (including the switch contact rod), rinse all parts with ISO, denatured alcohol, vodka, ect. Apply conductive grease to all threads in ground path (I use NO OX ID a specia, cloud wizards turned me on to the stuff). Most importantly, stick at least on extra spring in the battery end cap (if you thread them together first you can seat 2 or 3 three instead of the recommended 1).

If you do all of that a setup with silver plated contacts will hit harder than the rhodium, for a good week (YMMV); but after a couple weeks (of heavy use) you'll hardly notice a difference. Then, (for me it was usually every 3 week) you will notice a drop, and it's time to clean again.

I'm talking about keeping a Poldi in tip top performance, that's what you're asking about; and that is what it takes to keep (any mod with silver contacts) in it's prime.

And that is the reason for the rhodium. I sold my V1 for a Cali. Does the Cali hit harder, yes. Considering on average or consistency, the rhodium (w/ neg pole) just slightly edges out the silver.

I do not have a V2, I do the above ritual with all my mechs every 2 weeks of use. I can feel them drop off in performance at that point. I have not had the V1 Poldiac for very long ~1.5 weeks. First cleaning when I unpacked it I tested it on a battery I tagged to benchmark this mod with. Fresh cleaning, a teeny bit of noalox on some of the threads. Poldiac Aname V1 had 0.18 voltage drop, this is outstanding IMO. 1.5 weeks later with no cleaning and daily use, I charge the same battery to top it off, I test it on the same atty, prepping the Patriot with the same build as it had last time, just dry burned the coils added some cotton and juice. 0.19 voltage drop.
This again is pretty outstanding IMO. I got the Aname because I wanted SS accents but still have a brass mod. Worth it :)

Thanks for the in-depth replies to the rhodium vs silver question. I know you're suppose to take it all apart and clean it every 2 weeks (I thought it was a month) but I've gone as far as 2 months without cleaning it. Using the NO OX ID seems to keep everything in pretty good shape. I dread the cleaning because it takes me about an hour. I use a toothbrush, toothpaste and scrub and rinse it all. The contacts never looked like they had any tarnishing on it.

I might place an order for the rhodium contacts after I save up for them and that shipping.

Those maze clothes look absolutely fantastic! I was considering them too but went with the Kanavos instead because I wanted to get away from the brass. While the brass does look gorgeous, I needed a break from the constant polishing.

I just placed my order for the spare rhodium contacts, the peek ketron plastic parts, and the rhodium negative pole pin with spring.

I have a question about the negative pole pin. I recognize what the two parts are suppose to do from the diagram picture beneath it but I don't know about the first smaller part which looks like a contact screw with threading is for. Is that for the bottom button configuration?

I take it all ordered parts are compatible with the V1 Poldiac, right?

The rhodium contacts and the peek ketron plastic parts will fit in the V1. I put these same parts in my V1 Aname.
I am not sure about the negative pole pin. I tried to help a friend who purchased the negative pole pin for his new Poldiac(18650 size). I thought the smaller part was to be used for the lower contact on the switch head, but with it installed the negative pole pin could not be screwed out enough to contact a flat top battery. I wonder which type battery is required; flat top or button top?

I tired both flat-top Sony and button-top AW in mine with the negative pole pin, nothing worked with the one-piece pin that came in the bag. I had to use the two-piece unit that came stock. I have a V1 poldiac and it has the threads in the bottom cap; think that is the only requirement to use the negative pole pin.
