Searched for the tortious again no luck. But did score a bunch of weeds and Rose of Sharon flowers for the 2 tortoises that are left. Tried adjusting the sun sail I put on the turtle pool, now it's worse than before. The turtles were no help they kept swimming up and on it while I tried to stretch it taunt.  Soo giving up for now.

I hate when this happens but....

We tried a new adult beverage and found that we like it! :)

Have you ever heard of an old World War II rye whiskey called Old Overholt. It was made a century ago in PA and now in Kentucky. We tried the bonded 100 proof straight rye. It put a smile on Mrs Punkin's face and that doesn't seem to happen as often as it use to.

Sorry Jameson, but you now have some competition...

Yes I heard of it. In my PLC days before I transferred to Penn Dot. it was pricy but really good smooth.

Good sunny morning. The big excitement yesterday was getting a second coat of paint on that floor. It's done! Now we just have woodwork to do. That's next weekend. Today Mr. V is fixing truck brakes and hopefully mowing the lawn. I'm baking bread before it gets too hot out.

Berries are starting to ripen, I got a whopping 1/2 C. today. Now I have to get out there every morning before the birds get them. Last year I was too late, this year I'm picking them all.
What king? Been hankering for some Blackberries. Use to pick them right down the street when I was a kid. Grams always made us a big pie. She'd give me a kettle an say if you can fill this, You'll get a pie. But sad to say with all the so-called progress the patch is gone.

Can't like the patch being gone. We have blackberries, I wander the woods with my pail. I found two really nice patches behind the pole building. There used to be some next to the driveway, but not this year.

Neighborhoods full of baby bunnies this year. But the cat lady moved out 2 years ago.
We finally have baby bunnies this year. Cat lady died years ago, but up until last fall we were still catching all her ferals and their offspring. Hundreds of snotty faced skinny cats roamed the neighborhood. Two of hers killed my cat Norman on the back deck the first year we lived here, and I declared war. We used a muskie net to catch them and plop them in carriers. Animal control came and picked them up, then returned all the carriers so we could catch more. It took years.
