I like the Post Office because it has mostly been very good to me for a very reasonable price. That said however, I had a priority package go astray in June in Florida. Go to the website and file a complaint (I think it has to be 48 hours late for priority mail). They will call you and your package will hopefully get unstuck like mine. They do follow up.

Sorry about your problem, it's always the stuff you want the most.

They can be frustrating for sure. Much of it depends on location. I work in publishing and we send magazines all over the country. My experience with that, and with ecig orders Generally speaking, is the central US states are good. West coast is slow, East coast is slower and southern Florida is slow also. I get 1st class mail delivered to Jacksonville from Missouri just as fast as Priority mail from New Jersey. Still, I find them reliable for the most part and want to see them stick around...even if it requires subsidies.

Here's a short read about them: United States Postal Service - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

What's irritating is that I had to use priority shipping, first class wasn't an option.
If it had made it to Ohio, which it should have by now even with the holiday, I wouldn't have been nearly as annoyed.
It's been my experience over the years that once the post offices admits something is lost it is never seen again.

UPS is expensive but they have never been late or lost anything of mine.

I always get bad service from the post office for items traveling from west to east. Stuff coming from the east gets here in a reasonable amount of time

I'm getting to like USPS more. They're broke, but I blame mostly Congress. When I ordered from FL, it took 4 days to OR in priority mail, sometimes 3, not much different with first class. I ordered a package from NY on 8/28, shipped UPS 8/30. It is supposed to get here today, 8 days. Sometimes UPS takes longer for me. Once in March, a UPS package "de-railed" with no updates. I thought my new computer was sitting on the side of the tracks in the rain. One thing though, you're supposed to have recourse if USP lost a package, not so with USPS.

What I really hate is that new UPS Basic service. They pick up the package, ship it half way, then give it to USPS to bring to your house. Cheap but twice as long and bad tracking.
