Ok so I saw another car thread and had to share my newest obsession...
I bought this car just before Christmas, and I had a minor rear ended, my fault. Seeing as I had to fix the front bumper, I decided to go all out

It's a 2003 GT, the Dream Cruiser. These were a ltd edition and you can only get this model with all the options in this year. I looked for a while, I love Tangerine Pearl. Also it's a 5 speed, which makes it one of 50 made this year. Stock it has 215hp. Goes pretty good. 17" wheels, 4 wheel disc brakes.

Here's the before pics

I added a Pteazer smoothie front fascia, chrome roadster grill, and retro rear roll pan.
also had the faded door pillars painted and some tail light covers. it's taken a long time so the shop tossed in fog lights, did a shorty antenna and put a chrome rear view mirror with orange flames on.

tomorrow morning I am having a custom dual exhaust installed, monday my new intake manifold arrives, and it gets new plugs and wires. be sitting about 250hp with this. then new motor mounts and a chip. should be fun. and I have a set of Eibach springs coming to lower and level the car

Cheers. I saw these bumpers and thought that's how they should have been made stock. it's supposed to be retro. and there's lots of things to make it go faster. it is big enough to carry my music gear, detailing equipment or painting gear but still fun to drive. my first car with heated seats and gotta say those are one of the best inventions ever. even during the cold spell, I could jump in a cold car and within a few mins it was warm.

the interior is 2 tone black with orange accents. forgot, am also adding a hurst short shift. sold all my rc cars so have to mod something. bike is still too new and has lots of crap allready.

Dual exhaust went on yesterday. oh baby. I vape a dct. fill it once a day, swap the battery and that's it. carry a bottle of juice, spare battery. have a home charger and keep one in the car. and carry a spare carto. tried out a sr stardust, it lasted about a week, maybe a few days more. better vape, less time filling and cheaper refills. what's not to like about the dct

this car is my obsession. my bike needs nothing more than i'd like hard saddle bags and trunk instead of the leather ones I have now. sold all my rc's except one motorcycle. have to take a coping saw to my most expensive instruments fretboard this week hehe. I've had work vehicles for so long, this is fun.

Pip, I owned one of those PTs and liked it at first. Then the problems rose up. The braking is terrible in these. Believe me, they don't stop quickly. Never do any fast driving in them. They weren't made for it. Also mine had the front end torn off by a perp in a car chase. Excellent mods on it though.
Now I drive the GM version. HHR SS with 290HP/315ft/lbs torque. It has all the bells and whistles on it too. Loaded. Turned a 1/4 mile in 13.6 secs, not bad for a DD with a GMPP kit installed.

I like the HHR's. and I have a set of larger slotted rotors, new calipers and ceramic pads coming hehe

I thought I heard somewhere that PT Cruisers were made out of Vagina Repellant?

I understand, if I was a Maple Leafs fan, I'd be mad at the Vancouver people too. sucks we are going to get the presidents trophy again while your team is golfing ;)

the new painted parts were darker so I had to match them up. Going to need the hood and driver's door resprayed. apparently this car got egged at one point... paint is pitted, can't fix it

Tomorrow the car goes back in to be finished.
New version intake manifold
Plugs and wires
Release for the turbo
new headlight switch and new fog lights wired
new battery
install my lowering spring kit
hurst short shift kit
cold air intake
man I can't wait until tomorrow afternoon.

So much for getting everything done. And I am done with this mechanic. took him all day to install plugs, wires and my intake manifold. Broke my pcv and now my Throttle Position Sensor is gone. I get a new TPS in the morning from Chrysler.

I managed to score a slightly used Stage 1 turbo upgrade. should boost me up about 40hp. It's in New York so be a while before I see it. Adding a blow off valve too. Same guy is making me a nice polished intake pipe set as well. I have had to restart my business and have started booking work in. Actually getting a fair amount of work. I need it lol.

I need to get the springs installed still. After things getting broken and not working right after just doing engine work, not to mention things hanging and not connected, 2 missing bolts. I fixed all that stuff myself when I was tracing the tps wiring to see if it had a problem first... grrr. never got the shifter... I'd have owed this guy money if I let him do any more. so taking what I got for what I spent and moving on. I'll be taking it to my body shop guys to finish things. done with hacks.

so I decided to paint my calipers today. rusty rotors is because of the acid. I cleaned the inside of the rims too since I had them off. oh ya. I had 1 lug per wheel so loose I removed with my fingers. never needed a wrench. only 1 lug drivers side was tight enough for safety, 2 on passenger rear. lucky I checked. another thing done when installing the rear roll pan. ya I am going to trust this guy with suspension now.. or brakes. holy.. anyway. Got my Eiback springs installed today. Loving it. They fixed my wiring problem too and didn't tell me. I tipped them just for the free help allready. awesome shop. They are getting all my work.

Next mechanical is belts, water pump, bearing, fluids and the stage 1 turbo upgrade. I need to book a bunch of work before that happens. I can get a wheel alignment done at goodyear. good shop.

Forgot, while the car was in the shop, I came home, opened the garage door, and ran the motorcycle for a bit. it needed some running. first one neighbour popped by and grabbed my acoustic and we jammed, then another came over with his mandolin, so the first went and got his. we had a 3 mandolin jam going. that was a first. sometimes we'd grab the octave mandolin or acoustic guitar. jam/lessons. I was showing copperhead road (it has some cool licks) and how to scale over top that pattern for doing breaks. and various chop chords to use in those keys fun

Good to see you around. Your Pt is looking very good.

My sister has one and finally had to retire it. Felt like we were prying the steering wheel out of her fingers. She loved it so much.

My only complaint was the brakes. Never liked them. A little prone to be cranky if the car got stored for even a short amount of time. I sometimes think it's a Chrysler thing.
