You can get the food grade PG from Bickford's. 17.95 for 32 oz. A LOT cheaper than e-liquid!!!!.

Sorry for my ignorance, but I WANT to understand.

I have about 5 bottles of HIGH nicotine liquid from e-cig.

Can I buy propylene glycol (food grade) from Bickford's, and then mix it with the liquid from e-cig?

Also does the PG come in different flavors?
Or are the flavors you buy there are already PG?

Bickford sells flavours (that are based on pg mostly; sóme on oil though, so watch it you don't take those); and Bickford also sells pure PG - so without any flavour mixed in. (I get my own PG at a lót lower price still from another source though).
Whether flavoured PG or pure PG... you can use these to mix with your 24mg liquid. If you put 50% Bickford (pure or flavoured) PG in a bottle; and then add 50% of your 24mg liquid; the endresult will be liquid that is 12 mg; and is or isn't flavoured depending on which you put in with it.
If you put 75% Bickford and 25% of the 24 mg liquid, you end up with 6 mg liquid. And so on... so you can make your own strength that way.
Hope that answers your question?

Oh nederlands!

Leuk.

Thank you, I want to try that, plain tobacco taste is getting boring.

Also I think the bottles will last longer when you add flavors to them.

You have to ask Bickford specifically for the PG, it's not something they usually sell. I put in my order by phone.

For the smoking juice. All the bad chemicals in cigarettes are due to combustion. Not a problem with e-smoking. Just simmer tobacco and water, filter with a coffee filter, and then simmer some more until it thickens. You will have to experiment. I have no clue how much nicotine is left, but it seems to work.

Thanks Accordeur- I'll give the simmer technique a try today- will have to wait on the Bickerman's PG- We've got a discussion goign on in the health and medical issues forum about possible alternatives to PPG- I tried just the tiniest dab of Mineral oil on my Cart filter and just a word to the wise- don't ever do that- Yuck Yuck and double Yuck- Now even my regular Carts have a funky taste that about gags me- but it'll wear off eventually- oh well- nothign ventured nothign gained I guess

Cindy -- the new poster who started the argument over manners was the one I tagged as Miss Manners. Not you whom-I-promise-not-to-call-Sweetie, although we Southerners flip it out as a term of endearment.

I had your reference in mind when I used that term "Ms, Manners."

Okay, maybe I was wrong. I am thin-skinned - left out the negatives in my profile.

It's just in this Gotham City of mine, sweety is usually reserved for intimates - lol

I need to broaden my perspectives I guess.

Do I dare! OK everyone, you can call me sweety, you can call me anything you want (not)!

Does anyone know where you can buy the little brown bottles for the juice?
I found them online but then you have to buy one hundred or more.

http://www.specialtybottle.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=20

Since I published my profile my name is Eileen from now on - not sweety. It comes across as deeming though I trust you didn't mean it that way.

And I'm not Ms. Manners - not usually anyhow.

Thank you Eileen, I like that name.

I did not mean to offend you, won't happen again.

I found a site that sells Bickford's Extracts. They don't list the ingredients. Can anyone tell if this is the pure extract that I can use for mixing or do I need to email them and ask? http://www.foodzar.com/Extracts_s/527.htm

Personally -- i would go straight to the source:
http://www.bickfordflavors.com/cpack_1.asp?id=144

any that read: Propylene Glycol and Natural Flavors, should be fine....

HAPPY MIXING!

I want to call them tomorrow and order some flavors.
What do I need to ask them?

Tell them, umm I'm e-smoking and I need some natural flavors with PG.............
I have no clue.

Anyone?

edit to add; the link you gave, are those the only ones that have the PG added?
When it says:

Contents:
Brandy Flavor
Champagne Flavor
Chardonnay Flavor
Sherry Flavor
Product Description:
Collection pack contents: Brandy Flavor (Propylene Glycol and Natural Flavors), Champagne Flavor (Propylene Glycol and Natural Flavors), Chardonnay Flavor (Propylene Glycol and Natural Flavors), and Sherry Flavor (Propylene Glycol and Natural Flavors).

Then those will be good to add to the little bottles I got from e-cig?

Sorry I sound stupid...............

Yes, you understand Sanneke. Only PG and flavors, NO oil. The ingredients are listed only for the collection packs, not for the individual flavors, so when you are ordering, just ask, and they will tell you the ingredients. The lady I spoke to never asked why I was ordering so much and a quart of PG on top, so I did not say it was to smoke. I doubt they would lose the sale anyways. Good luck.

What amount of PG woudl you add to a 60ml bottle of homade smokin juice? Couple drops?, couple of ml's?

As for my experiment earlier with [way too much added coconut and rum extract- which does have hte PG already in it] the two flavors were too strong- I dumped about approx. 20 ml in with my tobacco juice into a 60 ml bottle- far too strong- ended up with headache, and hte flavor combo wasn't realyl all that great- but it was the only two flavor extracts that had PG in it in my local grocery store. [extracted by alcohol- not oil] My thought was I needed to add quite a bit extract just to get the PG needed to create the vapor, but it was too much I guess. It ebnded up with a very strong alcohol aftertaste and ruined the whole 60 ml of tobacco juice- I spose I could save it and dump it in to my next batch of cooked down tobacco juice to dilute it though, but I'm not real crazy abotu the coconut flavoring

I've done a few, not a lot, of home-made combinations, but I make them in very small quantities, for just the reason you state. I don't want to use up all of any of the ingredients. I usually make only about 4ml of fluid at a time and measure flavor in drops, not ml. Whatever, either PG or glycerine will be 80% of the final mix. And I still don't have the consistency problem licked. My favorite vanilla flavor is 6 drops of vanilla extract added to 8ml of glycercine of which about 1ml is tobacco flavor. It's all "mom's cooking" guess work, so post your results. Thanks.
