... but I am certainly much closer now. I have been using a Kanger ProTank with the top wick removed for several weeks now and had that paired with an eGo-C Twist 1000mah battery. The set-up was very nice, but I've found that I am a very heavy vapor and would go through three 1000mah batteries in a day. So I broke down and took the step into Provari land today and am now using the Provari with the extended cap so that I can run with 18650 batteries at 2250 mah each. I definitely like the Provari. I can easily match the voltages the twist has and control the voltage much better with the Provari. So ultimately, so far I have found the Kanger ProTank with the top wick removed to be an extremely reliable setup delivering excellent flavor (far superior to the cartos I've played with) and running around 4.2 volts on the current juice I'm using to be a wonderful vape and worlds ahead of the regular non-variable batteries I'm running. The gear I've been playing with so far include the Volcano Inferno batteries (now my backup system) equipped with the TubeTanks or low resistance atomizers. I've also played with the DC tank using both the regular XL cartos and the boge 801 XL cartos with an 801 to 510 adapter (another vaper recommended those cartos and they do seem to perform better than many I've tried, but still not thrilled with the rapid deterioration of vape quality through a carto or carto/tank system). Next up on the list is to get into some AGA-T+ RBA's and rebuild the coils for sub ohm resistances to play more with mech mods to see how good I can get those to work for me. Anyway, I'm not going to go all fanboy on the Provari, but I can certainly see what the big deal is with build quality and excellence in this PV. It is definitely superior to the other stuff I have. Anyway, just wanted to toss this out there. Hope everyone is having a great start to their week. Peace all and happy vaping.

Cool you upgraded your APV! Ya, you made a wise decision.

As far as removing strands off the KPT atty head? If you rebuild the KPT yourself (don't be intimidated its easy)....use 3 MM cotton not silica, and 32 gauge kanthal wire.....Its a thick absorbent wick, no more temp thin strands needed on top.

Much better taste and wicking.

TEMCO has 100 feet of 32 gauge a1 kanthal wire for $9.00 (you need 3 inches or less to rebuild ONE atty)
AMAZON sells large spools of 100% 3 mm cotton (candle) wick cheap!!!! (just boil it for 15 minutes before use)

after watching this video you won't be buying atomizer heads anymore. Just make them for about 1-2 cents each.

Thanks a ton! I will definitely be getting the supplies to do this. I am pleased as heck with it right now, but definitely want to be able to rebuild it when the head goes south.
