But did you enjoy the two days with it ?? :)

I was doing an experiment with starting one dry like other people say they do.
That one didn't last a day for me. It just started tasting like crap.
I'm going back to starting all mine filled with at least 25 drops.

ya was really good for a while....:)

Ive been using Boge 1.8 ohm cartomizers on my mini for over two months and have been loving it. Great flavor, less squanking, tons of vapor, and they only cost about $1.60/each. In conjunction with some Freedomsmokeusa 50/50 RY4 and applewood, the experience has been equal to or superior to atomizers. If you are someone who uses a mini for your "on-the-go, no hassle-just vape" pv, than I highly recommend this set up.

Furthermore I have noticed that when the mini rests on its side with an atomizer installed, it is prone to slight leaking out of the drip tip and catch tray. With cartomizers, there is never any leakage.

what carto is recommended for the grand...i like warm, but not burnt.....i use it at 3.7 v...:)

Debb, I haven't used my cartos on my REO yet, but the Boge 2ohm carto is a tiny bit warmer on my eGo than my 2ohm 510 Cisco is on my REO. Does that help? I would think if you like 1.8-2.0 vaping, you would like the 2ohm Boge cartos.

It seems I have been converted to a cartomizer user on my REO Grands.

I thought I would give my input on the subject.

Let me start by saying I went almost 4 months with a REO Grand and atomizers.
I used Cisco attys almost exclusively .... 510s and 306s in both 1.5Ω and 2.0Ω
I never felt the need to try a cartomizer on it.

Then I found the Boge 2Ω cartomizers and started using them on some other mods.
The vapor is awesome and some juices actually taste better with the cartos than attys.

So I popped one on the Grand and gave it a try....

How I use them:

I start with a filled cartomizer 20-25 drops for the Boge (I fill over time... maybe two hours)
I also fill a few at a time so they are all loaded ready to go.

I only squonk the bottle every 6-8 hits. It never really needs it, but I am trying to keep the carto fully topped off at all time.

I do the "blind squonk" method. Squeezing the bottle while drawing on the cartomizer.
As soon as I feel resistance in the air flow I let up.

By doing this every 6-8 hits the cartomizer stays full for me. I can pop off my drip tip and the top of the carto is always wet .... Never white filler showing.

Why I like it:

First and foremost is the lighter draw.
Next would be consistency. The same hit every time. Never flooded / never dry !!
Also the ease of use, its pretty much fool proof IMO.

I guess you could flood one, but it has never happened with my method.
By blind squonking the bottle my catch cup stays dry all the time... all the juice goes in the carto.
No more worrying about a few drops running down the side of the mod in my pocket.

And finally .... no more cleaning atomizers.
I have been getting 6-7 days or 24ml (4 Grand bottles) of juice out of each cartomizer.
Then pitch it in the trash and pop on a fresh filled one :)

All I have tried is the Boge 2Ω cartos at 3.7v but I suspect the 3Ω would be a good vape at 6v

The only reason I did not LOVE cartomizers was the constant re-filling needed.
The REO eliminates that hassle completely !!

If you hate cartomizers there is no need to give them a try I guess.
But if you use them on other devices and your only complaint is topping them off all the time....
Give one a try on your REO Grand or Mini and see if they work for you.

Another reason the REO is the best / most versatile mod out there !!

Big Hitter, I started using my Boge 2 ohm carto yesterday. Its working well, no complaints. I still don't have the squonking down quite right. I do have white filler showing I just noticed. Do I need to manually fill my carto again and adjust my methods to where I'm squonking more frequently? Will more frequent squonking fill it on its own?

bushmaster, I am not sure but I think it would be tough to "catch up" on the juice.

I would top it off again and see if you can get the hang of "keeping up"

I notice I have been squonking a bit more lately .. maybe every 4-5 hits.
I can taste a difference when the carto is burning the juice in the air tube portion.
I get a nice tasty hit that way.

So as soon as I start getting a real airy hit I give a shot while drawing on it to get a very slight gurgle again.

You will get the hang of what works for you.

My preferred squonking method with cartos goes something like this:

When I start to notice there is a bit of filler/burnt taste, I squank till the catch cup is about half full. Then after the visible liquid recedes back into the bottle, take about 3-4 (or until gurgling stops) sharp/quick inhales on the tip without pushing the firing button. Continue vaping.

Upon removal of the tip, you will notice that sometimes the filler is still dry looking on the top. It seems this is acceptable and doesn't lead to premature carto death. Sometimes in the evening I will "prime" this upper dry section by adding a few drops, but I don't think its necessary.

Surprisingly, I never get juice in my mouth whilst utilizing this method. :)

Thanks for the comebacks, Big Hitter and Comakid, I need all the help I can get.
That said, Big Hitter--based on limited observation--it appears that I can indeed "catch up" on the juice.
I have not manually added to my carto, but have squonked whenever I have not had the "...." effect--every other draw or so. I now see my filler fully saturated.
Do you typically try to stay with receiving the "...." effect? Sorry--thats the best way to describe it.

when i got my mini i was a little put off with the 306 2.0omh cisco after hearing so many good reviews about them. maybe the 2 i got are the cream of the crop. it was either flooding it or getting a burnt taste. so just for fun i put my 2.0 ohm boge carto from my ego on the mini and after 30 min. i have found my perfect vape. i love the boge on the ego but hate popping batteries. now with the high drain 14500 theres no risk. and the carto stays wet.

How long do you go on a charge, Convict3?

I just wanted to thank the op for this suggestion. I tried this out yesterday and couldn't have been more pleased with the results. As a REO noob, this has solved all the problems I was having. I frequently vape while watching tv in a dark room or while driving, making it difficult to watch what I'm doing while "squonking". This has resulted in drowned atties and/or juice in the mouth syndrome many times. Using the lr carto has completely resolved this issue for me. As an added bonus, I can now use my aluminum drip tips again. They got too hot if I tried using them with just an atty. The seam on my delrin atty irritated my lips. I don't have that problem with the aluminum ones.

Why your welcome tigerlily. I still throw an atty on from time to time, but the cartos have become my main vape on the Grands. I never had flooding issues with the atomizers just inconsistent hits. When they are good they are better than cartomizers for sure, but sometimes its not so good.

For the record, the best delrin tips you can get (no seam) are from Super-T manufacturing .... the wide mouth delrin.

Second best would be from liquidXpress..... both kinda pricey but worth it.

THIS!

My experience with the low resistance 306 Cisco attys has been terrible. A few months ago I bought four after reading so many rave reviews about them. Since the day I got them and even a few times since when Ive tried to revisit them, their performance has been horrid. They always taste either flooded or dry, produce piddly vapor, and make my lips too hot.

I know this thread is about cartomizers, but just wanted to get that opinion out there.
