One thing to note for cartomizers:

I quit filling more than 2 or 3 at a time. I've found that if they sit around full for a long time (with condoms on)
the filler can "swell up" and ruduce the dia of the center air tube. Took me while to figure out what was going on.
Some of mine would sit for 10-14 days before I used them and everyone had a really crappy draw.
With some investigation I figured out what was causing the trouble though.
Granted I fill them really really full. I go till a bit sits on top.

I like to make sure they sit for several hours before use though. You can foul the taste pretty easily by filling one and using it right away IMO.

I know this thread is about cartomizers but batteries are being discussed too. I have and use the discussed 5 volt batteries, the first version. I've been really happy with them and they have surprising vape time, especially as we aren't using LR atty/cartos. So I got the inexpensive tiny charger that Extix sells but it is really a hassle to use especially if you have other options or can invest $30 or less, depending on where purchased. I have a Tenergy Speedy Box and love it. Already had it as we use loads of battery "gadgets" and outdoors lights, etc. The Estix 5 v batteries come off the charger at a little over 5 v (they are actually 4.x v). I can do four at a time. The charger has four independent channels and has never overcharged any batteries even though I've tested by leaving them on for many hours after the light turns green. Check it out. It charges different batteries at different rates and cuts off when they reach proper voltage. The rates are listed on the back but 5v is not listed so I'm not sure at what rate they charge but they are taken to the proper voltage and then charging stops. There is a newer version that has an LED screen to indicate status of charge (except for 9v batteries). It cost only a little more. If I was needing one I would probably go with the newest one with LCD screen. That one also has a USB port for charging.

Amazon.com: BC1HU 110-240V Universal Fast Smart Charger for AA/AAA/C/D/9V Rechargeable Batteries: Electronics

Amazon.com: Tenergy T9688 Super Universal LCD Battery Charger with USB Port: Electronics

We use the Sanyo Enoloop batteries like crazy. I think we have over 50 of the AA and about 20 of the AAA. I have a ten bay charger that I use for those. The kits I get, at Christmas time, at Costco, include the charger for them but we usually need to charge a lot of batteries at a time (included chargers go to GoodWill). The first year the kits included the tubes to make C and D cells out of them which we use in motion LED lights (C size some) and Florescent lanterns (D size). My Costco still has the kits at <$20. That's about half what they cost online.

I tried two cartomizers today on my grand. They are both Joye-1 was a mega and 1 a regular and neither threaded on properly. Was so off I wondered if I would strip the mod's threads if I forced it. Anyone with experience with that? Is that normal? I have clearomizers that did fit ok though.

Do not force them....you could damage the threads on the mod...and then others won't fit right if at all. Someone else had this issue a while back....clean the threads on both the mod and the carto with some alcohol or water and qtip....then try again, slowly. Keep us posted.

Has anyone found a really good bulk (or otherwise) price on the Boge cartos?

Great question. I use the 2.0 ohm boge cartos almost exclusively now. Would like to find a place that I could order 100 at a time at a discount. I only get about 2.5 days or 6 mls through one till it clogs but still the best I have found so far. No leaks and consistent quality.

You know, you can get more time out of a carto if you clean it with the Syringe method described somewhere in the maintenance forum on the main board. I described it briefly yesterday to jonesn on the REO Grand opening sale thread. It only takes a couple minutes and it'll get you a couple more days of life out of a carto. I haven't had any luck with more than one cleaning but one is better than none IMO.
After the first cleaning, it vapes almost like new. A second cleaning is disappointing and I won't waste time trying anymore.

Rhapsodies Fire: I tried 2 more brand new ones plus a couple more used ones and none will go on the mod. I cleaned all connections before trying each one with alcohol and qtips-even the new ones. It is like they don't want to even start threading on. One would thread on part of the way but then met a little resistance so I quit. I don't have any problem with the 2 em 510 or joye atomizers that I've tried though. I don't understand why there would be any difference as they are supposed to be the same threading.

You should be ok to torque on them pretty good, I have to with the Boge sometimes.

The steel on the REO connector is much harder than the cheap aluminum on the cartos so the carto will damage first.
The exception might be the CE2s those have pretty hard steel threads if I remember correctly.

The manufacturers don't always produce the exact same thread even though it says they do. This happened to another person a short while ago....let me find their posts for you....be back soon. :)
