Ok, I have been vaping for only about a month. And I have been doing deep lung pull/inhales which IMO was taking a lot of air and another thing I noticed was a bit of throat irritation. Yesterday while watching TV, I forgot I had Vamo in my hand with the button pressed and without even doing any pulls my mouth was full of vapors. Since then I have been what can be rightly described as just taking sips and not pulls. And my throat irritation seems better. Ofcourse after the vapors are in my mouth, I can do a deep inhale or do a nose exhale. This seems to me to be a better experience overall.

So coming back, what is the right way to vape? Or anything that works is good enough?

I don't think somebody will tell you there is a right way, any way the nicotine getting into your lungs will do the trick, it depend on what feels good for you at the same moment.

Personally, I'm always vaping differently, sometimes a lung inhale, mouth inhale, slowly or deep breath, 7w and sometimes on 15w...

From what I understand you receive most of the nicotine from vaping through your mouth and throat. There isn't really a right or wrong way so to speak. Some people don't do a lung inhale, some just take it into there mouth and blow it out. Some take a pull then let it go out through their nose. Whatever feels most natural and comfortable for you is what you should do and don't let anyone ever tell you otherwise :)

I don't think you get any nicotine if you don't inhale to your lungs at all...
Lung inhale vs mouth inhale is when you vape straight to your lungs or fill your mouth with vape and then inhale it to your lungs.
I think that mouth inhale gives more flavor, but lung inhale don't limits you to the amount you can hold in your mouth :)

From what I have read, the nicotine in vapor is mostly absorbed in the mouth, throat, and nose. Not so much in the lungs. This is because the molecules carrying the nicotine in vapor are larger than those carrying nicotine in smoke and can not reach the tiny alveoli in the lungs.

Assuming that this is true, it makes sense to do a mouth inhale, imagining you are sucking on a straw in a milkshake. Use your cheek muscles to gently draw vapor into your mouth, hold it for a second for absorbtion, then inhale for the cigarette experience. During the exhale, exhale some through your nose (again more absorbtion). This will also allow you to better "taste" your flavor, as your nose has more nerve endings for taste than your tongue. Remember, when your nose is congested you can not taste your food because your nose can't help your tongue.

The only right way to vape, or smoke, is the way that works for you. The same as for a lot of other things we do in life :).

And it can change over time too. I used to mouth inhale all the time and now I lung inhale all the time. I used to vape at 8 watts, now I vape at 15 watts. All these things were/are right for me at the time when they were right.

IMO you are your own experiment thebanik. Enjoy it :thumb:

I've only been vaping for about 6 weeks, but what I do is draw a long hit into my mouth (the straw analogy above was accurate). Then I inhale it into my lungs and back out my mouth. I never liked blowing cig smoke or now vape out my nose. That's just me, ymmv. There's a big "if it works, don't fix it" to this, if you know what I mean.

I smoked for 25 years always mouth to lung. I vaped for the first couple of months that way too until I started reading here and found out many were doing lung hits. I didn't even know what it was. Cigarettes are way to harsh with the combustion process but with vapor lung hits seem actually less harsh. I'm still experimenting with it but I mostly do lung hits for now except on tight draw attys like the kayfuns and cigalikes.

Hi, i smoked for 7 years, since i was 16 thinking it was cool at gig's with my mates. So when i first started vaping i was on a ego with evod's those things you have to mouth hit if you ask me they are too tight and it fit me well because its how i used to smoke a cig, since then vaping became more of a hobby collecting atty's and mods so now if i have my trident on a DNA i lung hit it where as if i have a kayfun on a nemesis clone. I'm mouth hitting it, i think its sort of important for beginning vapers to have something similar to what they are used to sucking on and as it progresses and your off stinkies your open to more options. In my mind there is no right or wrong way to vape, i think it comes down to the set up you've got. I do think its important to have that something your used to when you first stop.

the only detail i feel that makes "the right way to vape" pertains to when you're just starting off. to me, ideally you want to do mouth to lung inhales before doing straight lung inhales to avoid some of the throat irritation until your body adjusts and move up from there if you wish. lung inhales can be harsh on the back of the throat for a while. might be too much for some people... especially the higher the nic content.

other than that, what works for you is how you do it. even then, if you can lung inhale without irritation on the first day then by all means... enjoy your vape how you like it.

Many things to be after when vaping. I hold in my mouth and exhale out through the nose. Reading about, and listening, I gather that those two sites have the most "capture' of the nicotine and vapor particles. I think it gives more nic and flavor, but no throat hit. But, a mint can really give a nose hit. :p

The reason I say this is that sometimes I am really just after the nicotine. Maybe, doing it different ways at different times.

    Personal opinions of course:
If it irritates your throat, that is not a good thing, and there might be a price to pay down the road.
Trying to get the max out of any system is also not a good thing, and there might be a price to pay down the road.

I prefer to take a very soft draw allowing the vaper to come to me instead of trying to suck the the bottom of the battery through the atomizer. I will hold the vapor in my mouth for a second before inhaling, probably allowing half to escape out my nose before I inhale.
