Three Roses and o-rings coming today.

Well I've gone and ordered the wrong size o-ring, ordered 5 x 1 mm , but they are 6 x 1 mm
I will double check one more time and order correct ones tomorrow

Sunday morning post: 6.5 x 1 mm is what I ordered this time ( along with some more 12 x 1's )
We shall see when they come, I might have ordered 6's and 7's but I'm confident that they are 6.5.

Here is a picture comparing the mouthpiece opening on the chamber end, the one on the left is the one without the base. It appears that the restriction is very short, no problem to use a Dremel to open it up.

I've measured the length of the narrowed section of the one on the left, it's only about 1 mm.

Is the one on the left from FT? Poor airflow?
Both are from fasttech, the one on the left is probably closer to the original, the narrowed part is so short that there's probably not much added resistance but there would be some.
I built mine from one just like the one on the right and claim it has easier (more) air flow than a Taifun GT with 1.5 mm draw tube. The one like on the left I built and gave to a friend and he claims is has less the TGT but not a problem.
I've yet to build my other two ( one of each type clone)

I need to add that during the first build on the one I'm using I made the air hole on the side of the base a little "higher" as it didn't get fully exposed with the ring in the fully open position.

Is anyone here familiar with the Infinte Rose clone ? I'm leaning towards getting it but it looks like it doesn't come with a stand or allen key , a nice convenience the FT version offers but I don't know if I have the patience to wait on FT and Infinte products are usually well made .

This one is the same as the one that Fasttech sells with the base, I'm vaping on it now: E-Cloud Vapes - Rose V2 Atomizer
Fasttech staff claims that the one they sell without the base is from the same factory that makes the one for Infinite, Both are well made.

Thanks for that link to E-Cloud. I have two genuine Roses and want to see how these new clones stack up. Of all my atomizers, the Rose is my favorite. I like everything about the Rose except for its size (it's huge) and hopefully the clone makers will be able to offer a nano-Rose.

So am I going to have to order some 7 x 1 mm o-rings to get the right size, I think not as I took great pains to get it right after fudging up the first time. In a couple of days I'll know and if they don't fit right I"ll just order some more. I presently have a pretty good assortment.

frak, when did this turn into a clone thread??? :D:lol:

The moment they came out I guess. I was reading your thread as I decided whether or not to get one (a clone that is).

Kind of how it goes, sorry. If its any consolation, I like the vape, and appreciate the help some of you gave me in my initial attempt to build it :)

Agreed. Two genuine Rose's here as well, and the best flavor I've ever gotten from a tank.

For my first build of the Rose v2, I put a 1.2ohm microcoil (1.4mm diameter) in there, and used a "split" cotton wick. It wicks perfectly and the flavour is there, but I'm completely not blown away with the vapour production. Sure there's enough vapour, but it is thin and dissipates quickly. It's just not a satisfying vape.

My coil is quite high, not too high though. My Taifun GT provides a good throaty thick, milky vape. I want that from the Rose. Maybe I ought to try a larger ID coil, maybe 2mm? Do I need to build lower? 1 ohm? I'll try the different methods of wicking too. Any tips?

since I first got my rose I've been tempted to turn it down on a lathe from 22 mm to 21 mm so it will be flush to my wizard but was always a bit apprehensive about trying that on a $200 atty. I'm not a big fan of clones and normally wouldn't bother with any clones but in this case I decided to make an exception and ordered a clone to see if what I have in mind will indeed work... if it does then I may try that on the real one and just keep the clone for spares

I run this atty with duals, 2 longish coils, maybe 12-13 wraps or so each of 28 ga at 1/16" ID, about as much as can possibly fit in the ceramic bowl and it's just awesome... pretty damn close to a dripper, as close as any tank has ever gotten for me at least :)
