My rose v2s sometimes has a tendency to gurgle. I have a 1.5 Ω build with KGD cotton. I wicked it like shown in some YouTube videos and don't think I have too much cotton. I barely have the JC on, so is this normal? When it gurgles, I blow a light puff of air through the DT and it is usually good for (quite) awhile, but then it happens again. Any suggestions?

Best Regards,
F2V
You probably got a defective Rose. Contact the seller and demand a refund! just kidding lol
Are you using the split wick build? If so, make sure your wick has blocked the wick slots, especially at the bottom. The wick shouldn't stick out too far. When you screw on the chimney it could pull the wick out of position. I recently rewicked:

If your wick looks OK, filling the slot, then you may have screwed the chimney on crooked. This is how I screw on the chimney and it never fails to go on straight.
screw the base about half way in. Then pull on the drip tip to disengage the chimney from the threads. Push the chimney lightly against the threads and gently turn counter clockwise until you feel a click. Start to screw the chimney on until you feel resistance. Screw the tank on a bit more, screw the chimney a little more until everything is tight. Just screw the base finger tight, without the stand tool. That way, the very bottom part will not unscrew first when you go to remove the base.

Here is what my build looks like. I ran the KGD through the wick, out through channel #1, back in towards the coil, then out through channel #2 and back into the cup and clipped it.View attachment 464616

Any recommendations would be appreciated. Sorry, it looks messy - I recently filled the tank and just pulled it off to snap this picture. Overall, it functions fairly well aside from the occasional gurgle. The flavor is there (not too fond of this flavor, though) and I like it but I feel like I'm making a newb mistake - something I've forgotten to do.

Best Regards,
F2V

Ok - so to remove the tank: I've been turning the tank upside down (like I was going to fill from the bottom) and turning the DT clockwise to open the JC until the chimney disconnects, then unscrewing the tank. When I'm ready to connect everything, I insert the base (with everything upside down so I don't waste the juice) and screwing the base onto the tank. With the tank still inverted, I push the DT/chimney gently up and slowly turn it counter clockwise until the JC is completely shut off. I then flip the device right side up and take a couple of vapes, then open the JC just a bit - maybe 1/8 - 1/4 turn. Doing it this way can cause the chimney to leak and gurgling?

Best Regards,
F2V

Too much wick. You can hardly see the coil. Use a big coil (about 2.5mm) so you have plenty of cotton for the four slots. the wicks should come straight out of the coil and through the slots. Now cut the wicks maybe 1-2 mm beyond the threads. Juice up the cotton and push the cotton in, flush with the threads until it looks like my first pic. btw I'm using rayon, but cotton is about the same.

When I say clockwise or counterclockwise it's in relation to my eyes with the drip tip pointed at my face. I see you are viewing it differently, with the base facing you. It takes some time learn how to use the Rose, a steep leaning curve. But take your time and ask questions. Plenty of experienced users in here willing to help.

That wick is very saturated. I do use the single diagonal build in one Rose with a 2mm coil.

First I run my wick at a diagonal:

Then fold it back through those slots and through the other two:

I don't fold it back in again unless its too thin to fill the slot. I just clip it just outside the cup.

I appreciate the nice and detailed replies. I'm going to try and rewick this build once I finish with work. If it messes up the coil, then I'll recoil. Thank you for the suggestions/recommendations.

I thought the wick was too saturated, but didn't want to overwick the build. I also didn't consider that the wick shouldn't touch the bottom of the cup - which, in hindsight, makes perfect sense - Thanks, retic1959.

Does it make a difference whether the coil is spaced or contact? I generally build contact coils, but can try a spaced coil if it will help. I noticed Pete and Roxy's coils were both spaced.

Best Regards,
F2V

I use contact coils in mine with no problem , it's just preference .

Yes, its fun getting duals in that don't look bad :). I twist the legs together to help.

It is easier to wick. But, when I ran a side by side comparison using the same juice, I swear the vape was the same. So I decided why waste juice and battery life? I'll be curious of what you think.

Rose V2s rewicked - vaping on it now (+10 mins) and so far no gurgling...Its not the cleanest rewicking, but here is what it looks like. Sorry, it's a bit blurry.

Looks much better, F2V! I usually set the coil higher, about even with the top of the cup. Makes it easier to rewick.
I thought you were the one who bought my Rose2 in the classifieds, so I was just joking when I said to demand a refund. But now I see you bought the Calix from me, not the Rose! I'm buying and selling so much stuff that I'm confusing myself! You should be getting the Calix Saturday.

I wish I had known you were selling the Rose ... I got this one from ifancyone in the UK. Lee, from Edenmods sent me an e-mail letting me know they had them in stock...
I am having trouble with the JC - didn't have any issues with gurgling until I went to refill. I had it too open and afterwards. I'm finding it is a fine line between too much and too little. Right now, It is perfect again.

    Best Regards,

It doesn't appear that you are using the ceramic cup. Does that affect the flavor of the Rose and if so, how?

    Best Regards,
    F2V
Others may disagree but I find the flavor better with the ceramic cup , I'm thinking that it's due to a reduction in chamber size .
