Yes the Russian 91% is a 1:1 clone of the KFL,made by UCT,Upper Class Technology.Every piece of the 91% is interchangeable with the KFL and the 91% is the only rta I use now because of the flavor and vape it produces. The same is true about the Russian, which is a 1:1 clone of the kayfun and interchangeable with every part.

Aww thanks! how come a clone costs so much? it costs almost as much as the original.. like 91% of the original KFL+ cost.. srs

The Russian 91% and KFL are NOT 1:1 exact clones. The R91% has AFC where as the original KFL does not. This is one of the reasons the R91% was so popular, it came with AFC and was cheaper than the KFL. The update KFL + now has AFC...but even then it's still not a 1:1 since the AFC screw is underneath on KFL +.

I don't have any pics of the build, but I followed the RIP Trippers video and raised he coil off the deck. Made sure there was enough space from the top leg to the neg post. Simple crossover of cotton around the coil and a small piece to cover the top leg. Working great so far. Day 3 and 2 refills so far.

I experimented with varying amounts of hemp and found too much hemp, like in picture #1 choked off the flow, too little about 1/3 of the amount in the picture caused flooding and ended up with 2/3 the pictured hemp worked perfect.
My coil lies on the base, not elevated.

where's a good place to pick up some of that hemp fiber?

I'm not sure because I was given a mess of the loose hemp and hemp rope by a member on another forum. You have to boil it three times and brush it out but it is really worth it. Lasts longer than cotton with no taste at all. I feel it holds juice better than cotton also. Fantastic stuff to use in an RDA.

hmm, I think maybe i'll pay the hemp shop in town a visit, maybe they'll have something I can use. thanks for the tips on preparation, I've never givin hemp much thought until recently. it's been all about cotton the last couple months and, i'm always up for improvement ;)

Quick question before buying one of these...

How long (assuming 2/3 mm ekowool, 30g kanthal) are you folks going before needing to rebuild?

I use gennys only now, and ceramic on top of that. So its nothing for me to go months without a rebuild at all. I know that won't be the case with the Russian, but I don't want to rebuild every other day either.

Thanks

I went 5 tank fulls and changed coil layout to the chimney. I had a dual coil set up with hemp and did not have to change wick and coil at all, in
fact the wick looked fine. I am mainly an RDA user but always had a Genny setup going also. Since I got the Russian I put up the Genny's.
I think the Genny's put out a little better vape flavor but not much. (I use U wicks with single or double coils on 2, SS rope on another and just mesh singles on the rest).
With the Russian, I don't worry about laying it down or leaks. I think it's easier to use all around than the Genny's, and lasts longer between fills.

Keep in mind this is only my opinion. When I get my Russian 91% in the mail tomorrow, I'll set it up and only use unflavored juice in it.

I've had a Russian collecting dust for over a month and been using an Igo-W. Yeah it's more of a PITA in regards to dripping, but it's so much easier to open it up and mess with things. For instance, every couple of days I pull out the cotton wick, dry burn, and replace it with new cotton.

With the Kayfun design, if things start tasting wrong you have to open it up, suck the juice out with a syringe, wipe off the chimney if you don't want juice all over your fingers, open up the chimney and THEN do whatever you want to do with the coil.

Now obviously it isn't that hard to do, but every other day it can get annoying or you might not be at home to do it when it starts to taste harsh. So if you don't like vaping on a gunked up coil, and you don't want to mess with it every other day:

1)Vape unflavored
or
2)Don't bother with buying it

Well, I guess if you keep up with it you could do the maintenance every other day once the tank is empty. That would cut down on some of the BS, but you're still looking at replacing the wick (if you use cotton).

After a month of using a dripper, I can say that it's really not much of a pain to use. For use on car trips though, I really want to set up the Russian again.

Just some thoughts to think about :)

I think it has to be a certain type to be the good stuff. Maybe poke around a little in the 'just hemp' thread for ideas. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/atomizer-mods/378875-just-hemp-64.html#post11014899
