does anyone else have problems with leakage out of the bottom of the 510 connector? Mine has been doing it since I first got it, but has steadily been getting worse. At first it wouldn't start until after about 3-4 tanks, but now it just happened after about 3/4 of a tank.... vaped about 3/4 a tank, left it sit over night, then when I woke up there was juice at the bottom of the 510 connection.

Not sure its from flooding because 1. my airflow adjustment screw is almost all the way out, and 2. it doesn't leak out of the airflow hole, just the 510 connection. I added a second o-ring (the super tiny ones) to the 510 screw, but that didn't seem to help.

I have noticed a very small amount if I haven't taken it off the mod in a couple days. But it's such a minute amount and it only happens occasionally that I wouldn't worry about it. May just be some condensation making its way past those tiny o-rings.

Happens to mine quite often. Methinks the design of its compound centerpin and not having a collector tank, like the full size Russian, cause the leakiness. Or at least it makes it more likely to happen if you've got a really wet chamber and a few nanometers of gap between insulators and metal.

For me, the everpresent 510 puddling had become more vexing than what I was willing to abide, so here's what I did:

2 o-rings on the 510 screw -- the very bottom very tiny one.
I tried a bit of plumber's tape on the big centerpin, just between its threads and side airholes
I tried a tiny bit of plumber's tape on the tiny 510 screw.

It still leaked until I did this:

Plumber's tape around only the circular part of the positive block isolator. Enough so that it was difficult to seat properly. I think my isolator was just a bit small on the top and wasn't covering the entirety of that large center shaft in the base.

Just a thought, you might try tightening the center pin that screws into the positive block. Juice might be seeping into the 510 pin channel under the positive block insulator. This could happen without sending juice out the air hole since the juice would have to get considerably higher in the vaporizing chamber.

I haven't experienced this but I have my center pins cranked down really tight.

Well, I'm biting and getting over of these clones to see if it would be any friendlier with my style of builds than my Fogger and to see how this design fares with leaking and traveling. That and just to have 2 RBAs in case I start re-tweaking one and have another in full working order to use.

Dialed my clone in to incredible perfection. 6-7 watts is all it needs, air hole drilled out to kill that whistle, and it hasn't leaked on me yet and it's been about 4 tanks already. simply marvelous and SS mesh was effortless to cram in there as well.

SS with a russian? I would like to see please:)

I think the reason why people say the vape is better/more dense/more flavorful with Kayfuns over gennies is because of the size of the chamber where the vapor mixes with the air. This applies to a lot of the newer RDAs that are coming out as well.

With that said, I think to take advantage of these small chamber designs with direct bottom airflow under the coil, it is important to use a microcoil, which provides more surface area over the wick to vaporize the juice.

I've personally found gennies to be better with ss mesh and a standard coil than doing a standard coil with silica/cotton in a Kayfun/Russian, but I find no reason anymore to build anything other than microcoils because they give better flavor/vapor.

How about a ceramic wick in a Kayfun? I thought I saw mention in another post but can't find it now. I couldn't figure how it would work other than one heck of a custom job and very time consuming.

Just saw someone per-selling "clone" gold and black 91%'s (think it was ehpro) on fleabay. I'll go find the link if anyone is interested and it's OK to post it....

Yea, so now add the two together and you get a real golden experience - micro coil x SS wick in a Kayfun/Russian. Who says you can't?

Haha, that's very true!

I'm a cotton guy myself, but if I preferred SS, I'd certainly be jamming it into my kayfuns.

What kind of still gets me is that lots of people don't even try to try all the possibilities. Is there a hive mentality floating around that X type/model of RBA can/should ONLY be setup the Y way?
