I am still trying to find the non-polished Russian In the States. Any idea what the differences are between the Russian 91 and the Russian found on MT Baker? The Russian - Mt Baker Vapor - Electronic Cigarettes
I bought one of these & when I got it I had it next to my polished Russian 91% & it's quite a bit taller. I was wondering why it only said Russian on the side with no 91%. Oh well, it works just fine.
Yea the full size Russian holds an extra 1ml of juice and has the collector tank at the base.If you notice the base of the full size and base of the 91% are two different sizes.The full size Russian also has the fill port and the 91% has the port on the bottom of base and screwed in.
That's what it looks like to me after looking at the pics on the vendor site -- pressure of the orings. Would make me a little nervous....lol.
Yes, only the O-rings hold it together.
I also worried about that, but there were no reported problems I could find on their facebook page.
I came up with a very similar design for how to make a glass tank conversion kit before I actually knew they were available. My design was very similar to theirs except I would've added threads to the top of the top chimney section and the center hole of the top cap, so that there would be no possible way for it to accidently come undone. Of course then You would have to include a replacement top cap making the kit cost even more.
I would love to have a glass tank, but I really have no desire to spend another $50 for an RBA that I paid $100 for.
yeah, I know what you mean. However, for me, it was too hard to resist. There are some juices I love that will kill plastic tanks, and several I want to try that will do the same. I don't want to use the metal tank section... that only leaves me with one option.
The price does sort of make one think, but what still concerns me is how the glass tank is held together. Maybe it is a non-issue, but I will be curious to hear how they hold up over the long run. Luckily I don't use juices in the Russian that harm the tank. The "tank burner" juice I do have is only used to drip.

I am considering one of these: Kayfun Quartz Nano Kit...it gives you the benefits of a glass tank without making an already good sized RBA any bigger. Anybody have one that can chime in on fit/finish/overall quality?
That's the Tarsius Customs one, just like I ordered, except I got the full size version. The nano, just has a shorter glass tube and comes with a shorter top chimney section. But as far as fit/finish/overall quality.... should be exactly the same as the full size kit. Mine is supposed to arrive on Friday, I'll let you know & post pics as well. FYI, the full size will not make any of the kayfun/Russian RBA's bigger, they will be the same size as stock, where as the nano will make it smaller, but also reduce your juice capacity, which is something I certainly don't want to do.
Does it come with a head strap or some sort of cheek post to reduce fatigue while vaping and balancing?
Got my Tarsius quartz conversion kit a day early (this past Thursday) but had to get up for work early the past couple days, so didn't have time to post till now.
Overall, it's really good quality. Not sure if the metal collars/rings (bottom/top tank sections) are SS or aluminum but judging by weight, I'd guess aluminum. The threads are just as smooth as the stock tank sections.
EDIT: Originally I said you could fill from the bottom fill port with a syringe or needle tip bottle. I was wrong, You can not. It might still be possible with one of those flexible plastic "needle" tips, but not with the standard metal ones. Some people have said its extremely hard to get the metal collars into the glass tube; one person even said they broke their glass tube while trying to get them on. I didn't have any problems at all, I just lubed up the O-rings with some juice and they went right on. Also, I have had no problems as far as it only being secured by O-rings.
All in all, like one person said above, the price is a little steep, but I definitely have no regrets. I think at some point I'll brush or polish the top cap and drip tip to give it a cleaner more uniform look.
