Gotta love it when li-po's vent...
From my experience whit li-po's There are two main reasons that they vent, short (not likely in this case as it is happening during charge), or when being over charged, which seems to be the case here. I would speculate that the batteries are cheap and made in China (not surprising, nor do I think this is the reason for the failures, but I could be wrong!). What I feel is probably the problem, again this is only speculation, is that the charging circuit they are using has an incorrect setting and is over-volting the battery, or a combination of both. I in no way represent the company, I have never owned or used one of these devices, what I am typing is pure speculation.
I will, however, offer to pay shipping on a device that has not exploded and is going to be binned so that I can reverse engineer and see what is going on.
Edit, thinking about this there is one other possible reason, and that is that the charge rate is too high, lipo batteries have a "C" rating, which is usually different for charge and discharge. The basic rule we use to is that maximum charge rate is C*(MaH/1000) so if a battery is 1c discharge rate it can handle a 1 amp discharge, .5c charge rate, the max charge would be half an amp. If that makes sense.
Thank you Lord Devon, I sure appreciate you posting this video for us.
And this is what is going to cause the FDA to ban e-cigs, carp like this!!!
Is there any people that actually HAD a problem with this device that have posted? Im not trying to encourage unsafe practices, but I have been using one for these for a month and haven't had any issues. I have removed them from my site until I hear from the manufacturer but I understand that there might have been a group buy where factories will often dump their defective units, Quality Control etc.. issues to those type of one time orders. To date I haven't seen ANY issues or heard from anyone that has had an actual documented event. Any information anyone has would be greatly appreciated. As far as being the most dangerous battery , they are what is inside of all our cellphones...Please don't do your battery research on You tube folks!!! Thanks,
Drew

Are you saying "beware co-ops"- only suppliers get the good stuff?
Dimitri's early vid/review indicated some clear issues. That was plenty for me, long before seeing any of this. So, my answer would be a resounding "Yes!".
Yeah, i have it on film here (check the other topics here) as well as other forums through our Youtube channel
Where is here? Thanks,
Drew
If you watch Dimitri's video closely you will also see that he is using the wrong charger (iTaste charger) with the device and also mentions that the supplier gave it too him and said that he didnt like it.
Issues often caused with Li-Polly batteries (as discussed above) arise from over charging and using incompatible chargers.
Again I am not here to promote unsafe operation or care of battery devices of any sort. I was just asking for specific reports from the actual users. Thanks,
Drew
