The Smith! IPV3 upgraded!

So, like a lot of people I've been looking for the right mod for me, mostly to run my new Kanger SubTank. I pretty much spent two days researching; came up with the same things as others; everything has plus and minuses to it. The IPV3 is what I finally decided on, even though I was less than thrilled with the touchscreen sensor still being on the mod despite not working, and the lack of passthrough. I resigned myself to lack of passthrough for the sake of safety, still wasn't thrilled with the warranty, having heard bad things about AsModUs
but I was pretty impatient to get one anyone, so I filled out my order was just about to hit enter when on a whim I decided to check BeyondVape's website.

Well there it was! The "Smith"! A collaboration between BV and Pioneer! Basically they took an ipv and improved it; no touch screen, 'charging port' blocked. Mini usb port is still there, for software updates. Seems to be the exact same software as the IPV3, comes with a one year warranty, from BV, NOT AsModUs. So I'm thrilled, just got it home, put batts in the charger, waiting to have my very first sub-ohm experience. The guy at the shop didn't have much information yet, so I need to find out stuff like can I update the software and still be under warranty. I assume the answer is yes, but I want to confirm that with BV first, so I'll shoot them an email today.

Not really sure why no one is talking about this mod, perhaps because it was just released yesterday, and BV hasn't done any media on it that I've seen. It's not even in their email updates, although obviously it's on their website. I'd post this in VV/VW mod threads, but I lack sufficient posts to do so, but by posting here, maybe the word will get out. Thanks for reading!

Yep, that is the one. Only little weirdness I've observed so far; when it boots up first it says "beyond" then it says IPV. Can't wait for those darn batteries to charge!

Nothing special about it. Its just an IPV3.... and thats it. Not even a magnetic door.

$128.00 isn't too bad of a price for that kind of powerful mod. I have never seen it or heard of it though.

It's pretty much just an IPV, yes. But it doesn't have the useless touch button, instead it has kind of a groove that goes across the top to the 510 connector. It's also covered by Beyond Vape's warranty, for a year, instead of someone else's. And it doesn't have that silly looking starry panel on the side, instead it says 'beyond'....I realize it's not a game changer, but I am excited about it because it seems like they fixed most of the little idiocies of the current version of the IPV, and I've had awesome experience with Beyond Vape customer service. A magnetic door would be nice, I might look into doing that upgrade myself. I believe they also upgraded the 510 pin, but I might be wrong about that.

It is diff. They removed the touch sensor which is stupid to have when you cant use it anyway. Buttons are different. Magnets are there you just cant see them. The overall aesthetics of the mod are more appealing than the Ipv3 IMO.

Always someone who gives a bad vibe to every new product that comes out. We are privileged to have so many options in the vape community, I am grateful of it, and I hope we do not lose it by way of the FDA.

No magnets on mine but you are right that they upgraded the buttons, I forgot about that, these seem much nicer.
