Ugh. I keep missing it it when you're here, Seebs. I guess I'll have to give Lana Del Rey a shot (I DID see that SNL:ohmy:). Now I feel bad for skipping the songs by her that cherrycakes (who I miss) played in "what are you listening to?". So what's your favorite album of hers?

Yup... We're on opposite schedules it appears. Don't fret though; I'm half vampire, so we're bound to bump into each other during one of my sleepless nights. :)

As far as Lana; you really ought to give her a listen... I joke about the AutoTune thing; as far as I'm concerned the SNL thing was jitters more than lack of talent... I've seen enough videos of live performances by her to be able to tell she's not "faking" it (she's done tons of stuff in Europe, but just now making it to the US ~ her dad is a NYSE billionaire so it's not like she even needs the money or the grief from SNL fans ~). As for her albums; she's only put one full LP out (Born To Die) and all her good songs are in it; my favorites are Video Games, Blue Jeans and Born to die.
Funny story. First time I heard her was by pure accident; I was browsing youtube while half asleep and clicked on a video thumbnail just because the face on it looked beautiful; I forgot about it and went about my web browsing... About a minute later; I'm sitting at my desk, trying to figure out where this voice is coming from (there might have been some unisoms involved in my haze); I'm half scared, half hypnotized... When I finally figured it out; it only took me about 30 seconds to buy her entire library. :) She's a must for my "vampire" nights.

And the fact that she's super easy on the eyes doesn't hurt either...

And now back the the "haunting" voices of my favorite radio station... :)

More Yellow Birds - Sparklehorse

Oh, I shouldn't do this. I just started catch-up, but OMG...are you a fellow Sparklehorse fan, kelli?! Have I already asked you that? Why didn't I just multi-quote this instead of interrupting play:facepalm:? I need more coffee, but I'm gonna "post quick reply", nevertheless:p.

If you are at all "into" classical 'tar, check out some of her performances. She's VERY VERY good.

I AM into classic Charo ('tar?). I love it when you post those extras, too! Yup, I'm "liking" stuff before I FULLY listen to it this time (not always), but I DO go back during many vampire hours to better get to know all of you through the music that you post...not that it matters one iota to any of you, but it's true.

Seebs, I'm buying that Lana Del Rey album, having heard none of it, for ****s and giggles. You didn't steer me wrong with Fullbright, and I'm pretty sure I'll be glad of the decision. It's cool to hear an album in the order it was intended and knowing none of it sometimes, my fellow unisom audiophile:).

SilverBear, we're playing on (natch;)), but we have a happy home for covers, such as "Spirit In The Sky" (can't yet bring myself to hear a version other than my BELOVED original at the moment), in Moon's excellent "Double Shot" thread...and you darn well know it, bub:p!

As an aside on Charo... do you think she is REALLY like the persona she exudes? I have never once seen her break character.

We got to see her live in 2006 at the New York State Fair (NOT my pics here: Charo Photos - In Concert and More :: Charo at the NY State Fair 2006) and that's where I learned she does have a serious and very talented side. But even during the guitar performances, she'd BRIEFLY get back into character and not take away at all from the business at hand.

Holdo matched "spirit" with Mourningshadow's post, so my cover post was just a speed bump! I am saved from your bosslady wrath!!! :p
