The state of this scraped blog-content

Came across this blog today. usually don't post them but this really is a piss-poor example of scraped content for SERPS. A lot of us got quoted. Looks like they took a thread's contents from the forum and just copied and pasted the posts into one paragraph. I'm on first. must have started that thread 4 months ago. You'll notice Trogs trademark he he's further down. see if you can spot your own !

Lots of my reviews are on there. I have had a couple people ask to put my reviews on their site. I don't mind that with permission and proper attribution, but in this case, I feel ripped of. Maybe I need a lawyer.

With youtube you can now disallow embedding of your videos but then they would not show up here unless they have a feature that allows you to choose which sites can embed them. If they don't, they really should.

I just tested it out, and views on that site do not show up in my View count. So now I REALLY want it gone! (not that I'm vain or anything... )

Leaford: This is copyright theft, pure and simple. Note that he is posting our material (yes, I found lots of mine) and THEN PUTTING HIS OWN COPYRIGHT ON ALL CONTENTS.

I don't have the money to attack him, but he'd lose any infringement case, assuming he's not in China somewhere where no ones gives a damn and just grins when something is stolen or copied without proper pay. The world is upside down already ... but this is one brazen jerk!

looks like s/he's in China busily being "The Best Distributor Of Chinese Wholesale E-Cigarette". The server is located in the US though if that figures. S/he's made private his/her contact details. I think LaceyUnderall said she had them remove content they had scraped from her site before.

If the host of the copyrighted material that is being distributed is in the US then the host should fall under our copyright laws. So you should be able to contact the host and as that they remove the content due to a copyright infringement.

I just ran across this thread. The blog is owned by what I refer to as the E-Cigarette-Chain-Gang... Also own e-cigarette-blog.com, e-cigarette-mart.com and e-cigarette-global.com.

You can get your info back and it doesn't cost you anything, however it does take a little time and effort.

However, it does work... What happens is google inspects the claims and then takes it down page by page. We wanted them to ban the entire site from google searches since they have so much of our stuff, but they won't do it. What I am hoping is that if enough people complain about a particular site, google will get tired of having to take down each page and just ban the site. We still haven't heard from Yahoo or MSN... but Google is the big daddy... so we will take what we can get.
